Does your cat pick one paw up out of the snow, shake it, and put it back in the snow and just generally totter about very slowly... mine does :P

Yeah lol! one foot out of the snow then when he puts it down again he sinks back into the snow! Its briliant! Then when you let him back in he's got that look on his face that can only mean: "!Removed! snow <_< "

My cats are all long gone. They were stupid, but entertaining. Thought they were dogs.

Anyhow ...

Good pics from folk though - I like. More?

Good old bulb setting here.

Love this thread!!

I love any pics with snow, especially with cars in them - we need some more! I was going to take pics of my Focus this afternoon in the snow-covered lane, but it's sooo dirty it wouldn't do this thread justice :(

I also love the cats pics too :)

Some darker type shots. The second is 'Tivoli' in Copenhagen. The first is my Little Dot MKIII valve amp (headphones).

Light painting can be pretty good fun - I just haven't gotten around to it really. Too much to do with work and CIMA of late.

You've been to some amazing places by the looks of things :) I'm guessing you've got more lenses than just that prime lens. If not, you're very skilled indeed!

Here are a few more of mine: (don't quite live up to yours)

80% of those were with the prime lens; architecture is a bit tricky though, as you need to go wider than 35mm in most cases, i.e., 18mm (or more if the lens doesn't distort). The key is framing. You might have an average shot, but thanks to insane resolutions, it means one can re-frame quite effectively.

I get to travel with work (USA a few times, Sweden, London, Japan), so I am really quite lucky to be honest. I'd never be able to do these travels without it! I'm hoping to go back to Japan or the US in September, but I may have CIMA finals at that point. Audit work has its benefits (business class travel!!!).

Animals on my travels. If you ever go to Miami, go to the Metro Zoo ... it's easily 5x bigger than Chester Zoo alone!

I really like the water drops on the decking - you've caught the angle really well there and it works perfectly!

I use the 50mm prime, 18-55mm kit lens (yucky and badly made - loads of lateral play!) and a 50-200mm (£150er - poor stops). I'm mostly quite lucky to be honest.

Double post ftw!

Right, I thought I spotted something with you decking shot ... it's a Canon trait, so don't fret :) there are known issues with some odd colour shifts (usually red), which can in turn make the image look washed out. I had a 2 min tinker and lined up an edit against the original. The new side looks a bit stylised, but lessons learned for me - I just wondered what you think really, lol.

Havent actually managed to get out in the snow.. but here are a few of my pictures.

I wouldn't be concerned. Photography is very much opinion based - while there are obviously good practises, there aren't really any rights and wrongs - all personal taste. One person may hate, the next may love :)

If you like them, that's what counts. I like the dog pic - would've been almost perfect with the ear in shot and the person in the background not visible/more DOF :D

Here are my last batch that I could be bothered to re-size.
