Just got home with this! Due to collect this morning but delayed due to blizzard! Only managed the few miles from the dealers but will post some comments when I get chance for a proper drive. Must say

  • Ok, finally a picture, 8 months in the waiting.

what’s the main lighting switch? like the headlights switch? i’m not in the car until the morning so will have to have a look for it then

Yes, to the right of the steering wheel is a round switch controlling side and headlights. It defaults to auto so you don't often need to go there. The instrument brightness switches are to the right of that, to the left are the front and rear foglight switches.

Powering off? What do you mean? I'm lost - that sounds like a different issue. Mine is after leaving the car say over night, it takes a minute or two for the USB ports to power on, if Eco mode is turned on from the night before. No Eco mode, no issue.

Ok, our car after starting does not disable (power off) the usb ports whether eco mode is off or on. Well not that we have noticed with an iPhone or Samsung galaxy connected.

Pretty sure it is all in the manual.

excellent thank you

Thanks for the responses.

Ive got another (?) issue. If you go into the car, is the stereo supposed to turn on and start working without you having to press anything? If I unlock the door and literally sit down without pressing the engine start/stop button, I just get a black screen after the Ford logo is initially shown.

If again I remember right without pressing the clutch down, pressing the start stop wakes the Infotainment system up otherwise it stays sleeping.

I think it defaults to whatever state it was in when you switched off and locked the car. If it doesn't come on I just switch on by pressing the on/volume button or as @m charles(sorry pressed the wrong name and don't know how to unpress it!) @Mavroz says it wakes up when you press the ignition.

Yeah pressing the ignition button turns the screen on. That’s normal at least then haha.

I guess it’s me getting used to not having a key that I physically put in.

My wife's car starts with a key, mine with a button. So when I drive hers I'm looking for a button to press, then I get back in mine and want to stick the key in somewhere!😀

Thanks mate that’s helpful.

For my sanity, can you confirm if you’ve had the Eco mode on for more than 24 hours continuously and have not experienced the behaviour I have described?

Just so I can relay this to Ford. Many thanks.

May I suggest we open separate threads for problems like this and GPS issues etc etc (as @matt1234 has done with the hill start assist issue) rather than post them here or on the "early impressions" thread? More chance of other people seeing them or picking up with a search. (As @Mavroz says, he can't be the only one with a GPS issue - apart from me, and I'm still not sure if it's the car or local reception issues).

I’ve ordered an st line x 140bhp and it was due to be built last week but the build date has been pulled with no new date supplied. Anyone else in the same boat?

I had that happen to me when I ordered my st line x, it was then built and delivered a month later

No the Eco mode would not have been on or off for a full 24hrs. She turns it off at roundabouts etc to give that extra bit to pull away and get out.

Yes. 6 month wait for hers. Ordered end August delivered March so a few weeks isn't much now.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey everyone,

I bought my very first new car yesterday after alot of haggling. Got a Titanium X 5Dr Auto with rear parking sensors.

They said it had already been built and was just waiting to be shipped so does anyone know average wait? They said by end of July but I don't have a VIN number.

absolutley loving my ST Line X. went over the forest the other day to do some photogrphy, and came back to a gorgeous sunset in the background of the car park, made for a cracking couple of shots.

Looks just like mine Jack, have you got standard 17" wheels or 18" upgrade?

Where are you as your reg YP18 is the same as mine?

yeah I have the standard 17" wheels, thought they were nicer than the 18" tbh. I am down near brighton, but as I leased my car, the leasing company must have ordered through the dealerhip with the best deal most likely, in which I think the guy who delivered it to me said he drove it down from Hull.

If they had drove any of our cars all that way from new, they could have shoved it up their arses. Maybe that is a rental company thing?

I live east riding and hull is where my dealership (EH) is.

We had an insurance claim where someone reversed into our car at an Asda petrol station, back end damage, bumper cracked and rear quarter damage a few years back (long story) and we made the garage that was doing the repair take the car on a transport the 16 miles to the garage and return it on a transport. They actually came initially to drive it there until we stopped them and told them it was going on a transporter.

Thoroughly agree with you there, think mine only had 6 miles on the clock when I picked mine up from the dealer. The other thing you don't know how they drove it on its journey down.

Pics look good though...I initially went in looking to purchase the red with black roof, my alfa was red with black roof, however I was somewhat put off by the half dozen 2nd hand ones parked out on the forecourt, so ended up getting the moondust silver with black roof...looks really classy I think 😎
