So i took the plunge and bought a F6 Sync 2 Map Memory card. Replacing my F5 I see Gracenote has been updated from 3088 to 5065 oh and it says F6 instead of F5

My Lady & I are going to the isle of wight on Tuesday so i  will report back.

Surely im not the only one that wants to upgrade there sync 2 map from F5 or earlier to the latest f6 ?

Already done it, maps are a lot better in my area, not bothered about the gracenote side of it... My phone doesn't do a good job on music info 

I didnt know what gracenote was hahah :-) is that what it is for then ?

Yep...  

Gracenote is a pain.
It kills all your album art with genre images.
Switch Gracenote off and remove all track titles with mp3tag.
If you just save the files using their file names alone (plus correct track number) they play in the right order.

Upgraded myself form F5 to F6 . 

A new road near my work still isn’t on the new map thou.

Looks like you'll be waiting another year for that one then! 

So the road does not exist. LOL eeeep

Some Awesome Roads around the Island!! from Ventnor to the Needles... being one of them!! what used to be known as the "Military Road" I think... 

 

 

F6 is good, I think a good test of it was round 3 big cities in Europe and mostly worked fine the whole time.

I have seen a lot on Fleabay but they are questionable if legit so haven't ordered one yet, could any of you PM me the seller you brought from please?

Sync 3 doesn't use SD cards for maps.

I believe Sync3 updates via USB or wi-fi.

I'm hanging off from doing that till I find out if they are changing the actual cars maps over to waze, or if that is only going to be an applink feature.

I think Waze will work through the appoint feature at some point this month.

See, what confuses me from applink side is......
"Other SYNC 3-enabled Ford vehicles can receive an over-the-air update or an update via USB to enable Waze functionality"

On my current here maps on sync 3 I think they shouldve made an on screen shortcut to the traffic option as currently you have to show controls then the 3 lines to get into it. I know not everything can be on the screen but feel it quite important to check in on that option.
