MK7.5 Fiesta ST-Line - Subtle Mods!

I'm only 16 (learning to drive next month) and this is my first car so I’ve tried to personalise my car subtly to avoid looking like the 17 year old chavs we all see driving round...

Here’s the car when we picked it up:

After cleaning and polishing it, the first thing I did was put domed gel private plates on:

Then I swapped the standard red mirror caps for black ones:

Removing the ‘Ecoboost’ badge was the next change I made, and while I was at it I applied a red pinstripe along the lower edge of the rear diffuser:

Not pictured are my black interior mats with red trim and red heater vent ring overlays.

Thanks for looking! Let me know what you think, and feel free to suggest any other small aesthetic mods I can do:smile:

Your lucky to get a 17 plate car as your first car. When I was 17 I had a 1 litre petrol engine Peugeot 107 🤣. Now have my mk6.5 fiesta zetec s 1.6 TDCi which I love.

Upgrading the lights isn't a bad touch up. Obviously putting in lights which completely stand out will attract attention such as 8000K HIDs.

Autobeam do sell good lights.

Which ones specifically do you suggest, to make it look good but not overdone?

On my car I have LED sidelights front and rear, reverse lights and indicators. Changing the reverse lights to a white LED one will smarten it up. Can say the same thing for the front sidelights. I'm not a fan on the yellow sidelights and reverse lights you get from factory. Indicators I bought autobeams premium ones which are blindingly bright and give out a intense amber colour. One person on the forum recently bought these for his mk7 fiesta and is worried if the brightness of these blind people behind him so might think about whever to get these or not.

Brilliant mate! I'll have a look into them. Are the rear plate LEDs just an eBay job or is there a better place to get them?

Oh yes I forgot about those. I also bought LED festoon bulbs from autobeam for the number plate. Gives a nice white light. They also sell the number plate holders with the LEDs built in which would be really bright but depends what you want.

Can go for a short aerial. I've got gloss black lower grille and fog plastics, went for standard style rather than the honeycomb though cost around £80/£90 all in not including selling the old parts

Have you got a pic or a link to this aerial you mentioned?

Autobeam also updated their premium  h11 fog lights. I was thinking of getting these but not sure now as I'm fitting autobeams halo lights on the fogs

How easy are the halos to fit?

You stick them on the fog light lens and have to do some wiring. These ones I bought give out a white light and also a amber light. You can wire it into the sidelights so the white light comes on when you turn on the sidelights and the amber light can be wired to come on when you indicate. Still need to find time till I can wire them in.

Some wind deflectors would look good. Either Team Heko which you can pretty much only get on eBay or the ones Ford use which are Climair, there is very little difference between the two and most people who get them after market tend to go for the Team Heko ones.
I’m not sure if your interior light is LED but if not then I would consider doing that, just needs a festoon bulb.
I would certainly recommend changing the rear indicator bulbs for some silver ones, diadem are the ones I have previously used. I see you might look at LED ones but if you don’t then these silver ones would get rid of the orange glow in the rear lens.

Fitted a small carbon fibre aerial to get rid of the RC car look with the standard aerial. Only £3 off eBay and the signal is still perfect!

Sorry about the awful photos it was low light:

You got the link for this? I am looking to find one for my Fiesta and was wondering about signal issues.

Here you go mate. I think it depends on where you are but mine worked all day today everywhere I went. You can get a signal even with nothing screwed in the hole!

I like the pressed out number plates. Also can see the mats you bought. Wish the mk6 fiestas had a dead pedal. I try not to rest my foot on the clutch.

Cheers mate, the plates are just domed gel plates, I know I guy who hand makes them with individual gel letters.

I never knew that the MK6’s didn’t have a dead pedal! Must be hard not to ride the clutch all the time.

Ive never heard of it called a dead pedal before, learn something new every day. I tend to just hook my left foot behind my right foot if that makes sense, which I know is probably quite dangerous.

Those bulbs look good, keep us updated on how long they last.

mrg take care modding the car as the way your going it looks like you may invalidate your insurance.

even a change of radio in a car can invalidate the insurance unless you notify them .

my son has the st3 with all the extras added by ford . the lit up scuff plates are a great touch.

just dont over do it as your starting to look like a boy racer just by removing the eco badge and changing the mirror covers

Yh, most people call it a footrest to my knowledge.

The bulbs have a 2 year warranty so if anything goes wrong its should just be a straight replacement!

Yh I'm trying to be careful about invalidating the insurance, and looking like a boy racer!

I'm all done for mods now as anymore and it would begin to look chavvy. I think what I've done so far is make it my own but not look too much like all the other 17 year olds with modified cars.
