Software update for Sync 3 Focus Titanium X

You were dead right the other day, Gillyallan. I looked in the files I'd downloaded as you suggested and the version is 3.0 build 18025.

I've still not put the stick into the car though. I've a nagging doubt and as far as I can tell there's not a lot wrong with the 2.2 I'm using now.

Does anyone know if the dealership updates as we do, ie by running the engine or driving the car about for 30 minutes or so? Or have they got some kind of flash update?

Chas

  • Good questions, Jonro. I know nothing but don't see why the engine would have to be running for the update to work. I vaguely recall that the owner's manual suggests the car just gets on with it.

Have you tried what I was saying about opening the install file in notepad to see if it's come all in one line? If you look a few pages down the focus threads for one about sync 1.1 you'll see it in t

  • @pragmatix problem is, that you should keep all the installation files .tar.gz in the "SyncMyRide" folder and not taking them out of the folder and putting everything together ;)

Still can't get a upload, put usb into car and I still keep getting lst_err05 tried different usb tried download from Mac and Windows still no further on, very frustrating

I remember reading on here about some download install texts all being on one line and not separated. Not sure if you seen it. You'd need to open in notepad and see.

If you have any other usb sticks or SD cards inserted try removing them before putting the update stick in.

@pragmatix definitely recommend for downloading and extraction windows. And sometimes the anti-virus programs are doing some problems with extractions...try to turb yours off. Tgen download, extract and copy to usb.

Nothing more that I can think of =(

Updated on Sunday.

Apart from a few icon movements can't or haven't noticed much change.

Maybe just sorted a few buggs/glitches

It makes no difference, tried all that. Buying another usb stick of a different make to the Kingston ones I've got, I'll see if that makes a difference, also I've tried different format from the exFat it says to use

If you look a few pages down the focus threads for one about sync 1.1 you'll see it in there the issue they had. Just wondering if something similar.

Looks like the instal file may be the problem not sure what to do about it

If its to do with all in one line you can sort it in notepad and save it back again

Yeah definitely need to leave the folder structure intact.

When I unsip they separate so thought it was how they should be, I'll give that a try.

thanks

Thanks for all the help, now successfully updated, went back to my Mac and did it,  all is now well.

It does use the single line of code.

It was very quick to do in the end about 15 mins.

Ive now remembered why I hate Windows 10 so much:biggrin:

Once again thanks

Interesting that your map version is F6.1.  Did that change ?

My map version shows as EU 4 15.

Interesting the only difference I've seen so far is the navigation icon now an arrow and the parking sensor graphic is easier to read.

Come on guys....We upgraded to an arrow. Well worth it [emoji28]

The other thing I've noticed is, mine no longer jumps from daylight setting to dark setting several times at the change over point, just goes straight to dark, and the start up,seems faster.

v3.0 supports also Sygic Car Navigation for Android devices, so keep in mind also this ;)

Every time I enter my vin the website says there's an error and to try later.

Mines being do that too stoney. It did work earlier though and says I'm up to date. Wondering if maybe it's breaking as more folk realise 3.0 is out and downloading

Mine definitely needs the update but it's annoying that I can"t get past the vin check.
