  1. I might as well start an introduction and brief history of the cars I've owned. Over the short period I've been driving I've owned may Ford's. Most have been Fiesta's with the odd Vauxhall thrown in. In 2010 i owned my favourite car, a Profomance Blue Focus ST3. Anyone that's ever owned a 5 pot Volvo powered Ford will know they make an awesome noise. After saying goodbye to the fuel hungry Focus I went back to the Fiesta and the new 1.0 Ecoboost 125ps version. In fact I had 2 in 4 years. You all know what I did to the little fiesta mods wise and had loads of fun doing it. I planned on keeping my Titanium X for a while but as usual Ford release something I like and I get distracted. This new distraction was the sudden announcement of a 5 door Fiesta ST in the UK. To me this was the one car I always wanted as a 5 door option and I'd been waiting 10 years for it to happen. With this news I rushed down to my nearest dealer with a wad full of cash. Fast forward 8 weeks and the new ST is nearly here and only 2 weeks to go. On order is one of the first firsta 5 door ST3's in the UK. I went for Spirit Blue out of the 5 colour options available. I've already started collecting part, some from my Titanium and some from Facebook / Internet. While I'm waiting for the car to arrive I might as well list the things I have planned for when it arrives. So here goes.... First thing strangely will be the wheel center caps. Ford decided that this year everyone will get black center caps. I'm getting spirit blue so want blue. https://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_alloy_wheel_centre_caps_set_of_4_2008-2012_f_KIT1429118_c_478.htm Next on the list is mist / fan washer jets. I personally love them so decided to get some new ones. there only £4 so why not. Mist Jets http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_non_heated_windscreen_washer_jet_f_1708796_c_923.htm I have an ST space saver wheel but not the correct retaining bolt or foam padding so there also to be added to the ST. it will come with the inflator but don't plan on using that. Wheel Parts http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_spare_wheel_fixing_screw_130mm_f_1766944.htm http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_space_saver_spare_wheel_spacer_from_2012_onwards__f_1778266.htm Bulbs are next. Osram NightBreaker lazer H7s and Nightbreaker H1s all ready to be fitted. H1s http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/osram-night-breaker-unlimited-h1 H7s http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/osram-night-breaker-laser-h7-twin 5 door sill plates from EBay next. personally think these should have been provided considering its an ST 3. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/291861292898?_mwBanner=1 I still kept my Mountune airbox from the Titanium and will be sticking it in the ST too. to compliment that I've purchased a Mountune induction hose from our friends on Facebook. Also purchased were 2 hose clips. Airbox. https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mk7-fiesta-st/products/fiesta-b299st-mtune-215-power-upgrade-kit Hose https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mk7-fiesta-st/products/fiesta-b299st-high-flow-induction-hose?variant=780300821 Hose Clips http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/140763609769?_mwBanner=1 Obviously a map is planned and the MP215 kit is gunna be my choice. because of my many purchases from mountune I've been offered a very reduced rate. https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mk7-fiesta-st/products/fiesta-b299st-mtune-215-power-upgrade-kit Possible gunna add the Mountune Gator again. https://www.mountunestore.com/collections/mk7-fiesta-st/products/fiesta-b299st-leather-gaiter Last on the initial list is a foot rest. I've seen loads and can't decide on a style yet. personally I might change the pedals to the older ones (spots) and get a plate to match. any ideas would be welcome. Well that's it for now so keep coming back for updates. I'll put up some links to the mods so far and add piccies. Thanks for reading

  2. Only things to look for generally is the coolant reservoir. Pants material and prone to splitting or the cap seal perishes leaving the coolant to evap into atmosphere. Known fault. Mine was replaced within its first year. other than that, enjoy it! Looks a beaut. I agree though, the 2.5 ZS is a cracking looking machine. I love driving the Mrs' 2.5 ZS - the 1.6TiVCT screams like a pornstar and goes like stink if driven properly!

  4. Water in the electrics/fusebox most likely. It will need a good drying out and fuses/relays checked. Hopefully nothing went into the engine via the air intake. Pull the air filter out to check if it's dry just to be sure. Sent from my SM-G930F

  10. Used to happen to me, with a neighbours visitor turned up, she would always park across my dropped kerbs and open double gates, facing against on-coming trafic so that she could exit and enter car from the pavement she was obstructing. She had a habit of most annoyingly and very deliberately parking it every week in the same position, and if only she'd park 3ft further on, I would have been able to access my drive ok. On asking to move, she would very reluctantly moved her car. Got to a head one winters night as arriving home from work about 9:30 pm in a snow storm, there was the offending car blocking my open gates yet again. I'd had enough, so I took a wide sweep, and parked at an angle into her car, blocking our road. I locked it and walked up-to the offenders house, and range the bell. I politely asked her to move her car, she replied that as I didn't own the pavement, it was public, and also safer for her to exit and enter the car, so she could park there. She was staying overnight due to the weather, and would be going home tomorrow. I pointed out that I needed to get my car into my garage now, not tomorrow, and asked for her keys so that I could move it. Very reluctantly she came out of the house and moved her car, shouting and swearing at me in a voice loud enough for an off-duty female police officer who was waiting for me to move hear. I parked my car up, and went in. Knock Knock, guess who's at my front door wanting to take a statement! Statement given, very irate lady then given a police caution for her language. RESULT, well not quite what I'd hoped for. Now blamed by her family for phoning the police and getting her into trouble, neighbour not speaking to me, although all others were, but no more parking in front of my gates! Would I take action again? YES, I'll give anybody a second chance, and then if they then did it a 3rd time, I'd take action. Nobody has the right to deny you access or egress from your lawful property. Remember, always be polite, never ever rude or aggressive; don't retaliate by blocking them in otherwise they will use it against you. Keep a diary. Get a basic CCTV covering your driveway.

  16. Clutch judder was known on 2012-2013/14 ecoboosts due to the clutch choice they originally used. Some were recalled but most were never replaced. my 2012 1.6EB judders from a standstill and presents with an odd loud hum for a second when trying to reverse - very similar to that of the Vectra 1.8VVT (also known for it) - the remedy was newer parts. But saying this, yours is far newer and shouldn't be doing it. regardless of being a 3 cylinder, it shouldn't be difficult to move off from a stand still, especially on a flat road. I'd be back in asking them to take a better look at it. Are you the first owner or was there any previous? if had a previous owner and it was young driver with a panel filter, your MAF could be fouled up, which gives the symptoms you have stated. - I've talked about this issue a lot on here, but I see and hear about it all the time my way so always worth a mention.

  17. Hi Just introduction myself, I recently managed to get myself a MK5 escort XR3i and I'm currently in the process of getting it road ready to take on a road rally event in 2017. Had one of these when I was a young guy and now enjoying revisiting with my own son.

  18. Mate i would get it booked in as things like this on a car so new would make me very upset/angry. I know no car is fault free but just off the clutch alone would get me mad, reading a few stuff on here lately about faults etc. I will shop around next time i think,my mate has a 2014 focus zetec s the 1 litre eco and said pulling off is not the best thing as it needs a few revs being its a 1 litre and a big car then the turbo kicks in and your off,i did have a go in it and i did see what he means. I would book it in and see what they say.

  19. Welcome to the forums! Really nice colour on this model don't see many about. The changes sound good so far and the splitter works well :) I also had a Fiesta Ecoboost at the start of the year, and have quite a big build thread on here as well, you may have seen it I don't know but here is the link If you head to page 3, I also had some eibach redline springs on ready for Ford Fair this year. They were absolutely spot on, dropped the car perfectly on 17 inch wheels, looked a lot more sporty and I honestly felt no loss of comfort what so ever, the handling also seemed better. I would thoroughly recommend them for springs if you were interested, they will probably sit even nicer with the spacers. Goodluck with your project

  20. I was wondering why I saw you selling parts from the titanium online! So just to clarify the new car is a Fiesta ST180 5 door in Spirit Blue? Or have I read that wrong :) Either way will be good to see another build thread

  22. The map is designed around all the hardware, if you don't have the hardware it won't work to it's full potential and could even set off the EML as it will detect unexpected manifold pressures. Also the main reason people pay for Mountune is because it is warranty friendly, but that only applies if you have all their hardware with it. Bluefin, etc will be tuned for the stock IC.

  26. Pretty sure I have one in my house too. I have interior and exterior cameras and often see swirling dust like a mini vortex in the spare room. It's also the one room the dogs don't seem to like laying around in even though it catches the sun and is a nice basking place. If I'm in there they sit at the door and watch but any other room they stick to me like glue. Remember- it's not the dead that you should be afraid if, it's the living. Sent from my SM-G930F

  28. Unfortunately I haven't got it into the garage yet. Going to book it in soon, with a huge long list of gripes. Am really not impressed (especially after the urine take I had buying the thing from Ford in the first place), which is a shame as it's such a fun car to drive.

  30. Thanks, all. Seems like there are mainly two types of recommendations: 1. Follow the manual i.e. 33/26 2. Have c. 35psi all round. For now, I think I'll stick with the figures in the manual, and see how it goes. Cheers!

  31. At the moment it is only an offence to block a vehicle from leaving a property not from entering it. If your car were in your driveway and you needed to get to work the offending vehicle can be removed. Police used to deal with these as obstruction but this is now covered by The Traffic Management Act 2004 which makes it illegal to park next to a dropped kerb. Sent from my SM-G930F

  32. Highway Code, section 243- DO NOT stop or park .near a school entrance. .anywhere you would prevent access for Emergency Services. .at or near a bus or tram stop or taxi rank. .on the approach to a level crossing/tramway crossing opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space. .near the brow of a hill or hump bridge. .opposite a traffic island or (if this would cause an obstruction) another parked vehicle. .where you would force other traffic to enter a tram lane. .where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchair users and powered mobility vehicles. .in front of an entrance to a property. .on a bend. .where you would obstruct cyclists’ use of cycle facilities except when forced to do so by stationary traffic. 33. Ok the first thing I'm going to suggest is that the 'sarcasm approach' is not the most likely to work. Maybe it will make you feel better but it won't shift the offending car (usually). If you can say 'I need to go out in a few minutes and if you are still blocking me I'll be forced to contact the Police' or 'you will have to pay damages for me being unable to do the financially important thing that was planning to do' then that might work. (Actually probably the most effective thing you could say would be 'my wife is pregnant and will have to get to maternity suddenly' but you can't really make these things up if you don't have a wife who is close to due.) My belief is that it is illegal here to block access like this but don't really have a reliable source for this idea. Oh and I do have a similar problem but don't get fully blocked I just get forced to do a 'seven point manoeuvre' across what is at times quite a busy road (depending on time of day) to get around it.

  37. An open cone filter may end up costing you more on fuel consumption without any increase in performance to be honest, I've heard this happening before in other naturally aspirated vehicles of similar engine size. a good upgrade to standard is a green Cotton induction filter, there direct replacement and will give your exhaust a slightly deaper tone. see my guide here for 10% discount code and link to a reliable website to purchase: Believe it or not; Another good upgrade is to change the fuel filter, just replacing with another ford fuel filter nothing fancey; you will notice the difference in throttle response as the pump will be more responsive. Some NGK Irridium spark plugs are also good when changing.

  39. Cheers for the reply, correct me if I'm wrong but I tried the live and neutral the other way round, and the lights wouldn't work, so I switched them round and they came on. Other than that, all the other wires were connected. I have emailed autobeam and they told me to send them a short video of the flickering so i shall do that, it maybe is that the ballast or bulb is faulty so they should send new ones if that's the case. Cheers creed.

  48. I did not take any measurements of the brackets. I removed the red reflectors from the door cards and made some prototype brackets which fitted exactly inside the door panels. After some testing I made the final design rounded brackets to spread the light more evenly and added the holes to insert a screwdriver. The reflector lights are connected directly to the door modules. I used the following Pin numbers of the door modules: Puddle lights (Positive) Connector C2 pin 6 Ground Connector C2 pin 18 This will only work if your car has puddle lights or door modules that support the puddle light function. To make it work the puddle light function needs to be activated in the Central Configuration of the car.

  49. Today I installed LED lights behind the reflectors of the front door panels. I made some brackets which bolt onto the existing mounting hole of the door panels. On each bracket I drilled holes and installed 3 pieces of 5 mm red LED lights. Next I soldered the LED's, a suitable resistance and the wiring together and sealed the connections with epoxy for extra insulation. The LED lights are connected to the puddle light outputs of the door modules. This way the LED lights light up if the car is unlocked or one of the doors is open. The reflectors are illuminated nicely and the light is evenly spread.
