  3. I did the cambelt at 118,000. But if your car has an interference engine I would not take any risks and get it done at a dealer. But if you are doing it every 50,000 miles it would seem sound advice to miss the water pump and do the water pump at 100,000.

  5. VOSA can still stop you and test your car at random which is getting more common removing your DPF now is just a bit silly with tests soon being able to check for the DPF properly.

  27. Got it. Wasnt a dud fuse. Turns out the 3 phone chargers i have are all broken.

  28. Hi Thomas, two things. Yes, if you want to pass an MOT you have to have rear fog lights including an activation warning light of some sort - either in the switch or on the dash somewhere. I was watching some sort of wiring loom on eBay that I had considered using in order to add DRL's myself. I have no knowledge of the exact details of what it does and I'm not watching it any more, but that MAY be the easiest/most practical way of going about it. BTW where were you thinking of putting them? I was considering using the existing front fog location as mine aren't working anyway.

  30. Probably best to have full tank fuel too, this has made me doubt the reliability of this engine now, luckily I have a spare car, reliable but it has issues a 2012 Volvo with the 1.6 Ford unit, seriously powerful when it performs.

  31. We would always recommend informing your insurer of any and all changes you make to your vehicle. If you need help regarding modified insurance we have access to several specialist schemes that allow you to add unlimited 'cosmetic' (ie. does not directly affect the bhp) mods for free. Kind Regards Dan

  32. how would you switch on your rear fogs ? and how would the DRL's dim down when you switch headlights on ? i agree £600 for a dealer install is a bit excessive but you need to rethink how you go about this modification as to get them to work like factory equipment is more involved than just wiring a switched feed unfortunately.

  33. Just a quick update...it was a stuck starter motor causing the problems but hitting it wasn't enough 'encouragement' to get it moving again, I had to bump start it. Luckily I live on a hill so once I'd got the car off the drive I quickly checked that the engine hadn't seized (by this stage I was double checking everything even though there was no reason at all why the engine should've seized); I put the car in second, handbrake off, and let it roll forward, which it did without any trouble. The engine finally fired when I jump started it and been behaving itself since but I have ordered a new starter motor so I can change it out rather than having to go through this again! Thanks again for the help guys

  35. Well, on mondeo '16 made it doesn't show ilumination on buttons that window defrost is on. On focus '15 made it also not iluminating heating procedure. Only way to deactivate them is to switch them manually ON and after few seconds turn them OFF or remove fuse(but that's not wise, because one morning it will be needed). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regarding issues - Does clutch noise have others m5 users? And standart halogen lights are very poor during night? Currently riding focus '15 made as a temporaly car, but as long term car - 4 years lease wanted to order mondeo 5. But those 2 issues are quite important. And lights are very important. During winter a lot of hours being driven in dark.

  37. Glad to help. The footwell fusebox should be as per the MK2 handbook but some later cars produced at the time when the facelift ones were about to be introduced were given the facelift fusebox instead. Only way to know which you have is to visually inspect the board (hence linking you to both handbooks in order to cover the bases for you). Links to relevant books on ebay if you need them (whichever is relevant)- Early Mk2 book (6M5J-19A321-ADA (CG3505en) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FOCUS-PRE-FACELIFT-HANDBOOK-OWNERS-MANUAL-WALLET-AUDIO-GUIDE-2004-2008-PACK-/332108486860?hash=item4d533558cc:g:EDMAAOSwal5YCL7p Late Mk2 and facelift (Mk2.5) book (9M5J-19A321-ADA (CG3505en)- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FOCUS-MK2-2008-2011-FACELIFT-Owners-Manual-Handbook-Audio-Guide-w-Wallet-/252606037147?hash=item3ad07e3c9b:g:t3QAAOSwImRYEPBM

  41. The book you need will depend on which footwell fusebox you have. There is an early and late version (same as facelift mk2). I have PDF copies of both somewhere, I'll link them for you to download when I can locate them. Sent from my SM-G930F

  46. Ooooh Matron!! Seriously, though, further to what Ted has just said you should understand that if the airflow control (not the fan speed) is set to send air only to the screen (as Ted says that's the screen symbol on the control) then the aircon will turn on automatically when you start the car. It will also turn on if you turn the control to that position whilst the engine is running. In either case you should be able to turn it off again with the A/C button and it should stay turned off until you next start the engine or turn the control to another setting then back to screen.

  48. I got the car running tonight!!! so I thought even tho I haven't had a reply I would still post what I did. Disconnected the battery and c90 (engine and pcm plug) for 5 minutes. Then connect both up. Lock and unlock the car via the door 4 or 5 times. Then get in the car shut the door and put can in key program mode ( key in ignition from of to position 2 4 or 5 times quickly till bleep is heard) Then she started! Must have been because the battery was of for a couple of weeks and maybe the car thought it was trying to be stolen. Anyway hope this helps someone.
