  4. Jealous of the zs body kit :( But all looks well!! Get coilovers and lower it! Ive got 17s coming having low pro tyres on them so whole thing will be the same size in the arch but the rims will just fill out.

  5. Right then guys and gals. I have sprayed my grilles gloss black and colour coded my fog surrounds with fly eyes over all the lights. Next weekend and spraying the bottom of bumper black down from the lower grille to give it a wider look. Most of you will know. But I cannot decide what colour to put the bonnet strip. Wether to colour code it or gloss black. I will be doing it next saturday/sunday. So you guys decide. Black or white. Please everyone comment your opinion/vote

  9. I prefer the white (on Oli's photo) I like the sharp line, IMO it gives it a 'mean' look.

  16. when you say eml never been on/no codes...take it you mean codes have been checked anyway...as not all codes will trigger the eml..... although you have no rattle in the cats, you still might have a blockage somewhere, may be worth checking, if you can get hold of a back pressure tester it would be the quickest way to test for it, otherwise maybe remove an access port in the manifold if you have one or the front sensor (keep the wiring connected for test) and give it a run see if you have any improvement....oh and some ear muffs :) i have no idea why the font changed itself and back again whilst writing that?????????

  17. Not a problem, let me know if you need any advice, I've sprayed a fair bit myself from small to large scale, and also the family in the spraying business lol. Anytime.

  18. It's all in the spraying and the buffing... When spraying you can easily damage this "glossy" effect you are referring to, as it only takes the gun to be too close or not set up to the correct PSI to put too much on the final layers... As within the metallic paint the "flakes" which lay down on the paint are the things which reflect and give you this "glossy" shine.. So when put on heavy it gives less of a glossy shine. Also the as you stated above, you can finish your paint job with a GOOD cutting compound which you would then buff up using buffing pads and usually and electric buffer (oscillating buffing tools are usually best for beginners), but before you use your compound you should also sand down your CURED final lacquer coat (I usually leave them for 24-48 hours), using very fine wet and dry. This could also achieve your "glossy" finish.

  22. Lol, i have the zetec s dress up kit in the shed seeing ford tomorrow about getting it done, but im like kissing up to misses to let me take everything out of the shed stick two heaters in there and do it myself lol :D id have a go but shes saying no -.-

  23. I would guess the more paint layers and laquer the deeper the shine , although a good buffing should help.

  24. Cowling is a generic term for any plastic covers or panels. Does sound like the filter seal is leaking. Check the wet areas inside the car first, if it feels sticky it could be aircon coolant, not sticky will just be water. You may find applying silicone sealant around the filter seal will help in the long run.

  26. The focus MK1 has a Smart Charge battery system. The alternator and battery light are fuly controlled by the PCM. A short or open circuit between the alternator and the PCM or a defective PCM can also cause battery charging problems. 1 Wire of the 3-pole connector on the alternator should have exactly the same voltage as the battery. The other 2 wires are connected directly to the PCM. 1 Of these 2 wires is used by the PCM to control the alternator. The alternator generates an output signal on the other wire. The PCM compares this signal with the control signal and if the signals have too much difference the battery light will be activated. If the alternator, Battery and wiring between the alternator and the PCM are in good working order the next suspect could be the PCM.

  28. Alot of the data on emission machine aren't correct and is a guideline tbh. There are also no laws about what machines or what softwear versons are used. Untill Cars connect diectly to VOSA via Dignostic port ect. There will always be loopholes and problems. When i was younger i used to rebuild engine and work alot on 106/16Vs/Rallyes Not 1 Mot station i used knew that there was 3 Different 16V engines Verson's . with 4 versons of cats/different admission/exhuast & manifold cats ect) I had a RS Turbo failed a Mot because of going over sound limit. They had engine listed as N/A 1.6 CHV because there Machine wasnt listed for the Turbo. (even tho cars been around for 20 years). They just passed me on the spot. There tons of laws that can't be held too like the stock WRX that dont have Projectors from factory(bmw and audi also). Yet because they fit them too new other models without washers. We can't fail them and disagress with a customer about who bolted them on when the factory are still doing it. What about engines that been transplanted from other cars into older body/chassis ? its endless possabiltys. End of the day. Aslong as tester is fair and reasonable. There is no need to treaten to report them ect lol. i have a bus go past my house pouring black smoke out of it for about 3 hours of a night with not a soul on it. public transport are the ones who need a kick up the butt.when it comes to admissions.

  31. Its not that bad. I'v worked at 3 different Mot stations. There so many differences in engines and models. Most of the time if we dont actualy see a DPF and exhuast looks unmodded. I let it pass. Simple. Because at end of the day. We dont have time to look up all the the cars and dig into the history of every car & look at live data ect) It's like my boss sweared to god my Diesal focus had a DPF. (it don't) (2000 TDDI)

  37. Haha naughty, be careful, I thought you can get into trouble by driving with your interior lights on?

  38. if your spraying your grill then just pull the grill out, start at one corner and pull it out. Lenny has made a guide on how to remove it. I sprayed my old grill and the bottom of my bumper
