  1. I do like a nice drive in the old turbo diesel this afternoon and now sitting with a glass of wine and a chinese take-away in the oven. It is quite sad really that the best things in my life are alcohol, food and driving, but it is better than nothing!!

  6. My car doesn't have a low washer fluid warning light either, despite being much newer :S You should have just filled up with a bit of water for free, and then bought one later. No way I'd ever pay 10 quid for screenwash!!

  7. On a related note, I do like keeping in touch with old workmates who offer me free beer! 3 kegs of Stella? That'll do nicely Cheers!

  9. From what I understand, limp mode is when the engine restricts itself in some way when it detects a fault to prevent damage. It's like a safety mechanism i guess. Somebody else on here could probably give you a better technical definition than me........

  11. What radio? You will normally need to buy an adapter cable (and box) to link them to your radio. These are generally split by manufacturer - i.e. my Pioneer radio had a box to convert from Ford to pioneer.

  12. So today I finally picked up my Fiesta Zetec S Red Edition after waiting for what seemed like an eternity (but what was in fact only a week) and I couldn't be happier! I picked up the car used (albeit a 2016 model with just under 10K miles on so nearly new) and there are already a couple of little bits done to it which will save me a little bit of time and money. However I thought I would use this thread as a little record of the changes I am planning on making in the near and distant future. Completed changes: Black and Red "Ford" gel badges all around. Rear lights changed (Thanks to 666Damian666 for pointing this out). Front and Rear "S" badges Lockwood "S" engraved kick plates Gloss black interior air vent surrounds Team Heko Wind Deflectors (with red pinstripe) Change foot well lights to red "Fiesta" etched foot rest K&N Air Filter "S" wing badges from DMB I'm open to suggestions on any small changes I haven't mentioned.

  13. Got up this morning and car was frozen. Threw some hot water on the windscreen as I was in a rush, and bang, the windscreen ran a crack along the bottom of the screen!. Can't believe it. My dad used to always do this when I was a kid. Have I done something wrong, or is the glass not able for it anymore?

  14. most if not all bulbs can be upgraded to aftermarket products , some like dipped & full beam need to be "E" marked for use on UK roads. mumberplates lamps are no probs with fitting leds etc

  17. I should have, but wasn't thinking and grabbed the screenwash expecting it to be cheaper, only finding out when he was ready to take payment. I think I was so shocked that I paid before even questioning it.

  19. they are specific , well mcguard probably make 20 or so different key profiles to reduce duplication. replacement keys are available but you need a key number or code to get the right one or take a close up photo of locking nut and email it to mcguard , see if they can send a new one out.....

  21. Indeed it is, plus it means you are getting into a warm cabin as opposed to feeling like you are driving a freezer for the first few miles.

  22. Frequency bands! .. the higher the frequency the shorter the antenna (usually use a 1/4 wave length), so GPS and DAB need a smaller antenna. DAB is region specific (Europe), so it makes sense to make it in a component that can be interchanged depending on the target market. AM/FM are low frequency by comparison and world wide, so the larger length (window element) makes more sense, and is aesthetically more pleasing than a typical 8"-10" long helical stub aerial like on the Kuga, etc.. Saying that, It does seem odd that they opted to use an area which is still in the wiper blade arc and an area that could have done with the heater elements!

  24. Should never throw hot water on a windscreen. The sudden temperature change causes a rapid expansion in the glass, usually unevenly and so it cracks. Don't you have the quick clear windscreen on your car? Even "cold" tap water can be significantly higher in temperature than the glass depending on the outside temperature, plus using it on the side windows it usually finds it way in to gaps and seals and the next day the door won't open. I just whack my quick clear on and scrape the side windows, before I've finished that the front and back are done.

  25. Ok, the module has arrived and SUCCESS! The Bluetooth and AUX are now working!! The sense of relief is off the scale! I've only tested it quicky but fingers crossed this rectifies the whole situation. If I end up with further problems I'll report back and let you know. To clarify my initial problem, in case anyone else experiences a similar issue in future - I was happily driving along one day when all of a sudden the audio from my iPod cut out (the iPod was connected to the AUX port via a 3.5mm jack). The audio returned when I switched the main unit off and back on again but would then cut out again after a few minutes. Meanwhile, the radio and CD worked fine. A few days later I noticed the Bluetooth icon on the display had disappeared. I re-paired my phone and all seemed fine but then the icon would disappear once again shortly afterwards. All this was followed by a battery drain that caused no end of problems and visits to the garage. I was getting a 2.0amp draw from somewhere when the car was switched off but nobody could figure out where it was coming from. I ended up getting the audio head unit, fascia and display replaced as I believed the problem with the audio was connected to that. And also perhaps the battery drain. Not so. New audio head unit fitted. Battery was still dead after a few days. I even had a new battery fitted but that died too after a while. Turned out all along, everything was connected to a faulty Bluetooth module that was housed underneath the glove box. Thanks to some posts on this fabulous forum I was able to disconnect it from the car easily enough and purchased a replacement from eBay for £90. Everything now appears to be working ok (including the AUX port) with no drains on the battery. Fingers crossed I don't experience any further issues as this has been a nightmare to solve! Thanks to everyone that assisted. PHEW!!! :)

  26. HI, my name is Del. I have a 2010 Kuga 2l Titanium tdci 4x4. Love this but need something bigger for work. Was thinking a S-Max 2.5T 06/07 for about 3 to 4 grand. Looking at the Mondeo, it comes with many extra features, eg. Keyless Entry and Lane Departure Warning. My thoughts are....... from a lucky position of having a few friends who are dismantlers and purchase crashed cars as donor cars.......... What could it take from other Fords to upgrade and 06/08 S-Max A few things I`ve thought of.... Keyless Entry Start Button Lane Departure Warning Front Full Electric / Full Leather / Heated and cooled Seats Convers+ updrage Some feed back would be so cool......thanks

  28. If you can find a decent deal on them then go for it. I have no scraping at full lock either. Didnt beed that steering bush kit. Considering a 25mm drop aswell but the estate lowering springs are expensive.

  31. Good job you added the last bit or you would be in trouble. I get just over 25mins with the roller brush on and not tried it with out yet,i was just shocked with the power of it even on normal but the boost sticks to the carpet. I use it being i care 24/7 at home so this is a massive help and being mainly upstairs it does 3 bedrooms/hall and wet room easy and charge left which is the point of putting it on charge when not flat, cheers for the advice.

  32. The battery in ours is still going strong, it still functions the same as it did when it was new. It's on the wall in a cupboard, we have been away and left it for a week too. Only because we forgot to turn it off. We got about 15minutes at normal suction and 7 on boost. Doesn't take that long to charge so can usually get downstairs done, charge it while we get lunch and then do upstairs. I say 'we' I really mean the wife lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  34. Do you realise those are not standard rear light clusters as you have not mentioned them

  35. I will do yeh. Did you find any difference with it fitted? My idea is to go with what ford have done with the ST200 and use softer springs (standard) and stiffen up the rear axle and also the front subframe.

  39. Thanks a lot,i have just edited the details as found it on the Dyson itself so when done like 10mins just put it back on charge. It will be used every other day say or in some cases every day. Thanks.

  40. In that case top it up when done, it will be fine. I wouldn't leave it on all the time though. Lithium batteries can go off like a firework if they fail.

  41. Its a 21.6v Lithium-ion Battery at i think 2800mAh as it bigger than the v6 model. Base says Li-ion.
    1 point
  42. I'd expect Li-Ion or Li-Po on one of those too to be honest. Nickel prefer full charge and discharge rather than lots of top ups, to get the best life out of them. So if it's got a Ni-Mh or NI-Cd battery I'd say use it till it's flat, then charge it up full and take it off charge when done.

  43. Wow I'm suprised about the ST having a bad turning circle. When I test drove one I didn't notice it being bad in that respect. It turned every corner well and went round mini roundabouts no probs. But oh yes on the straights that's another story hee hee. It's a sorry affair that Ford have made a Superb car in the RS and ST yet forget it has to go round mini roundabouts etc.
    1 point
  44. Aye, the ST turning radius is a bit on the wide side too, but what it does on the straight roads more than compensates for that. [emoji41] Sent from my SM-G930F

  46. Same on my Zetec S due to the rack limiters. I just use the manual steering assist, yank the handbrake up!
