  4. Terraclean overall is great choice to go for, just be aware, terracleaning older engines with higher mileage can have negative effects. As the engine cokes up through use itll end up wearing and bedding in such a way determined by the carbon build up. By removing the build up it can lead to poor sealing in the valves etc and oil leaks can occur. This is documented all over the net, so keep this in mind when considering a terraclean. This is why many dont know about Terraclean, it never took off as intended due to these problems.

  5. As said above its the air mass sensor thats faulty, replace that and all should be fine but bare in mind they are not cheep for a new one. With regards to the egr valve if you can clean it it can't do any harm.

  6. I don't like despite watching TV for getting close to 2 years, and being completely happy to watch other animals, real or cartoon ones: Molly has suddenly taken to attacking the TV. My brother's pugs do this, but they've done it since they were puppies. This is completely new behaviour for Molly It started when we were watching the second BBC Spy in Wild with the spy squirrel and moments later with meerkats being filmed by spy termite mound. She didn't react to first program, there was something about spy squirrel that triggered it. Now when squirrels, meerkats, the very.com advert with it's falling glitter, the cat in the Sheba advert, the characters (not sure what animals they're supposed to be) in the Lurpack butter advert, Batman in Sky Fibre advert and tonight most recently, the koala in the loo roll advert come on: Molly jumps off the settee and pounces at the TV I'm not sure if an LED screen can withstand a cat throwing herself, claws outstretched, at it: repeatedly I also don't like the explosive laxative effect of tonight's Tesco unpitted large green olives, i only had 10! Had I eaten an entire tub that might have been understandable: but 10 I used to have the entire OS collection of 25,000 scale paper maps for the south, I still have them, somewhere in the house Before I had Brandy, I used to walk a lot further and faster (i didn't have to stop and sniff things),, 68 miles was my personal best, one day in June 1997, walking non-stop for just over 18 hours. I was however, beyond being tired when I'd finished Since Tuesday, Pipper has had to make do with three and sometimes four shorter walks a day rather than the normal two longer ones. My neighbour with 2 litre petrol focus, has also taken her out for some extra walks, mid-afternoon

  8. That's what I thought, lad at work said clean egr valve it's self not the pipe coming from it, will that make a difference or is it 100% air flow meter

  9. if you unplug that mass air flow sensor and it runs fine again then that's telling you that you need a new air flow sensor you may need to have the light turn off with a code reader

  10. I do ask several questions here about car repairs because I have had such bad luck with disrepair and have spent thousands of pounds on having my car's repaired and over recent months I have fixed several different things myself on the car for the first time and it makes me feel great and very happy to fix something myself, a sense of achievement. I come here for help and guidance sometimes and I can take a little longer than most people to process your information due to my learning difficulty ( dyspraxia) a lot of people once I inform them of my condition seem to understand and accept it and continue to help me at an easy pace when teaching me things, other people I have noticed treat me with disrespect and I am talking about people on this site, this forum. not everyone but a small minority of people here. like, sorry if I take longer to grasp your explanations and ''help/advice'' but pardon me for having a learning disability ( dyspraxia) like It's not my fault I have a disability, I hate being discriminated against. some people here have mocked me, like I ask a question about a part and in said thread like they say, maybe it's the chuckle sprocket and other stupid things and I get angry and upset but I realize they are just trolls, keyboard warriors with nothing better to do with their lives and therefore try to upset other people such as me, but I shall not give you the satisfaction. so my question is, if you have a problem with me then tough, I'm not leaving this forum anytime soon so I suggest you get on your bike and go to back to wherever it was you came from (preferably under the bridge where most of you trolls thrive) and to those who accept me for me, thank you

  12. So......I had already acquired a smoother feel to the driving with the addition of K & N along with a powerflow catback system from A14 tyres in Bury st Edmunds 2 weeks ago. Today took the car to Swiftfit in Norwich for a terraclean service. Pluuged the elm in & logged the performance using torque pro on my fone. 80.56 kms travelled averaging 52.55mpg at 60.22 av.MPH, used 0.93 of a gallon (diesel) with 2.43 kgs of CO2 spent......nt a bad run me thinks going 79.26 kms coming home averaging 62.55mpg at 58.69 MPH used 0.77 gallon with 2.01 kgs of CO2.....definite improvement for less than £95... How much would you guys read into the figures.....? Just as a note to the above, the dash read out showed 100miles covered at 42.5mpg which is up from 38. My car only does 3 or 4 trips of 11 miles to work mon to fri depending on wether I get home in the week...

  25. Hey all, minor update just got an extra mod done today Probably not to everyone's cup of tea, but bought myself a bonnet lip to sit along the front. Originally bought a gel one but it was very thin and meant I couldn't wrap it at all, so I gave it to my friend and he's using it on his blue ST. Managed to find an actual part, and wrapped that yesterday. Sticking with my theme went for the dark carbon :) Such a sucker for it, but matches well to the fog light surrounds. The part was gloss black originally. Used double sided tape to stick it on, but not sure how well its gonna do the job tbh Originally with no bonnet lip (it's filthy my apologies keeping it clean never lasts atm): After with the lip on.. Wouldn't fit that well where I originally thought it sat, too curved. Might be a FL part but going with it for now! Let me know if it's a worthy modification, It didn't sit right where I thought it would so this is what i've settled with now. Just hope it stays on.. :) Also going to be getting a cat back very soon, the tax office owe me some extra moolahs! Looking at getting the Mongoose Section 59 system, meeting up with someone this week in the local area to hear what it sounds like in and out of the car, if I like I will be going for it. I know already they are prime exhaust system for some flames! This is what the system looks like (no middle box, and two small ones on the back with 4.5 inch slash cut tips - 3 inch exhaust system to match my Mongoose sports cat).

  35. Thanks for your reply and funny you should mention the engine management light, mine has just started to throw the yellow check engine and yellow cog. First think I'll try is unplugging the egr completely, if it throws a light but no limp mode then no biggie, nothings worse than constant BMW iDrive bongs! Failing that, I'll take the EGR off this weekend and see what's going on. An OE valeo one is only 80 on eBay, just begrudged paying for something for the car to uselessly play about with for it's own sanity. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

  37. I do like going to off to visit one my brother's best mates, who just happens to be a physiotherapist, and discovering after he'd run a few tests, probed, prodded and scanned my right quadriceps tendon, that it's not torn to the extent I feared. Although the pain in comparison to last time, had made wonder if I might have torn the whole thing in two Ideally, he would like me, to employ the R.I.C.E method with it (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation), plus he's.given me a series of exercises to do at least 5 times a day to prevent it reoccurring and to help strengthen the tendon while it heals. I've also got to wear a hinged knee open patellar support brace for a while, which is being sent to me directly tomorrow, as he didn't actually have my actual size in stock . For the time being, until I get it, he has taped it up with a cohesive bandage, which is supporting it nicely However like last time (with less pain), I can comfortably walk on it on a level plane or an incline that is slight, providing I don't lift my leg more than about 75mm. Although, on steeper inclines and on stairs, it's decidedly painful and I end up walking rather erratically I also like that Pipper has been here a week, and she's so settled in, you'd think she had been here for years

  40. take plug off the mass air flow sensor (MAF sensor). this is usually somewhere around the air intake. if faulty it can give false reading and make car run bad. I understand that if you unplug them on some cars (don't remove the sensor, just unplug it) then the ecu uses kind of average reading pre-programmed into it which is better then it being fed totally wrong readings from a faulty sensor. I am not saying i think it is definitely that, I am just explaining what ajzetecs suggested

  41. Great tips thank you! It has Mondeo (presume as they are 18") alloys as seen in the display picture, with I believe Hankook tyres. So should be ok there. Glad about the aux, as I listen to Spotify exclusively - I have taken the Kinovo Bluetooth to Aux adapter from my last car, which is superb for streaming to your wired AUX. So I'll have 3 12V devices running. I am going to look at some options with ebay parts I think and try and do it properly. I was lazy in my last car (e60 530d M Sport) as it had 2 rear 12v sockets, out of sight out of mind! I'll go through the SH and check brake fluid and will do this myself if it's overdue. Have to say, I've had a lot of cars including a MK1 1.6 Zetec back in about 2007, was quite impressed with the drive of the MK2, I've downsized so it's reassuring that I haven't had to compromise too much!

  43. Hi, That drawn image is only for demonstration purposes; it's not a model specific image, The adjustable rear camber bolts replace the top bolt on the rear hubs allowing the rear to be adjusted; on the focus the rear camber is not adjustable atall without fitting these bolts. Here's where Ford fitted mine👇 The front camber can be adjusted without any modifications, it's only in cases where coilovers were fitted; then a tower strut caster kit would be required to adjust the angle of the strut itself to allow for a lower stance than the fully compressed strut by offsetting it's angle.

  46. Fastlife, I'm taking my moderator hat off for a moment right now... I would never discriminate a member for any reason, especially with a disability and I am offended as an individual that after I catered for your difficulties by explaining several ways and detailed reasons as to how you can do these tests and dedicated a lot of time away from my family to support you, only to recieve your blatant rude retort below. If I was in a pub with you and you had said that, I would have flipped out or walked away yet you didn't understand how the below was potentially seen as an offensive retort to someone trying to help you. I supported you and your retort of **somebody kill me now** was where I had my problem, nothing to do with your difficulties but everything to do with your attitude problem in your response. Putting my mod hat back on, if you feel I have treat you unfairly, I invite you to complain to Steve and Trevor, detailing your concerns and your reasons for how I have treat you so poorly. In fact I would ask you to do this, as I will not be seen on this forum apparently abusing members and allowing that to be the case and having it going unrecognised by forum management. I will start the ball rolling by quoting@steve and@trevor in this reply. I have been a part of this forum for I believe 8 years now, have the highest post count of all members and have served as a moderator for I believe around d 5 years or more, in that time I have never treat any member unfairly, rudely or in any way discriminatory. On an unrelated moderator point, you talk about how you would want people to approach you, yet you start a rant in my direction on another public thread, after I explained what my problem was with you. I came from knowing nothing 8 years ago, to knowing all I do now mostly because of this forum, I preach how to save money because I was fed up being burned by dealers, and I would hope I have helped many more members over the years than you will have the pleasure of knowing. I'm offended I have been referred to as a troll though. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

  47. Sorry you're having a bad experience some people do come out with things that can be a bit harsh at times, but sometimes they don't do it to be horrible more likely just a bit of banter, also about you staying here good for you. I'm happy to help when it comes to things I understand. Nobody is perfect.

  48. The firmware version of your radio is 04-05-02. This firmware version belongs to a GEN 2 Sony radio. This basically means that the radio you installed is not compatible with the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system of the car. To make it work you either have to replace the radio by a GEN 3 Sony radio or to replace the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol module by a 1st generation module and some modifications to the wiring.
