  3. I doubt it would be, but if your car is coming from 'Trust' Ford - run like you have never run before. Mind you, it sounds like you're being sold a car with a past and I'd be considering asking for my deposit back... A dealer who lies has something to hide.

  4. putting it simply, they are lying to you. there are no recalls for airbag on a 2015 fiesta.

  6. I do like taking Pipper for a 33 mile walk, in and around the New Forest, having deviated off the Avon Valley path in an easterly direction, at Sopley. We were only rained twice, contrary to forecast "heavy rain from midday onwards"; once heavily and then about 20 minutes later a further light shower. We returned in bright sunshine. I also like having dismantled my oven, and tested everything: it's not the oven at fault. Plugged into an extension on both a kitchen socket and then retested in the hall, it works perfectly It's either the wall socket, which is located in a spectacularly awkward place to get to (behind the built in fridge! What was the electrician thinking when he put it there?), the cabling to it or the MCB (if it indeed has it's own) My consumer unit labelling bears no resemblance to the actual circuits wired to the MCBs - as I discovered previously when a halogen downlighter developed a fault and tripped the upstairs circuit MCB (which had been labelled "Kitchen") "Upstairs Lighting" turned out to be the power shower in master bedroom en suite!! It looks like whoever labelled it was not the person who actually wired it up, and just had some random guesses. "Downstairs Mains" is the only one that is correct

  7. Yes, my old WD Matchless ran a Burman box, but that's not really relevant. As stef123 requests I'm not going to play with someone who seems determined to argue. It's not fair on the other forum users that you're having a public pop at me and polluting a thread that they have to read. You got a problem with me then pm me direct and I'll be happy to delete it.

  8. Well if you want your bulbs to flicker and not work then CEUK is the place to go haha, on the up side though apparently the customer service is great so you'll get sent free replacements that will then go faulty, then repeat this process until the 6 month warranty is up....

  14. Hi, I'm new to Ford and have just agreed to buy a 2015 Fiesta. Not paid yet but been a bit worried after my car was delayed being brought down from Leicester due to a Ford recall. I have asked what the recall was and was told it was airbag related. I cannot see that there has been any such recall for this model. Also when we looked at it the trim on the rear passenger side door was not fitted properly. And the caps by the seatbelt housing were off. The caps at least might tie in with an airbag recall as it has curtain airbags around that area. I have of course said that I will not take the car without the door (and a few other bits like scraped alloy, new tyres being done) but I guess because the recall has made me question whether the reason was genuine I am worried what has been done to the door to cause the trim to be removed. Any thoughts anyone? thanks

  15. did you check the reg no on ford etis to check for recall other than airbag? perhaps there may be another recall they were refering to? pm me the reg no if you dont know how to check and i can check for you.

  16. The original wheels are painted. You can basically use every wheel cleaner as long as it is acid free. Cheap wheel cleaners may contain acids which can cause damage to the paint after extensive use. Personally I never use a wheel cleaner. I apply a layer of wheel wax about twice a year which makes cleaning a lot easier. I just use a decent car shampoo to clean my wheels. It must have been 10 Years ago that I used a wheel cleaner.

  18. Why am I not in the slightest bit surprised that this is a Trust Ford sale? Honestly - get your deposit back and go to a proper dealer who is a) competent; b) doesn't lie; c) values its customers; d) I'll stop there, although I could easily carry on Trust Ford and their predecessor Dagenham Motors haven't earned a slew of negative reviews for no reason. The Mk 7/7.5 Fiesta has been the best selling car (or thereabouts) since it came out. There are plenty of examples and you certainly don't need one dragging down from Leicester to Devon. I bet you'd be able to find a decent one within Devon.

  23. Depends how bright you want them. I find that I prefer the mood lighting rather than the glaring brightness. The 5 led ones are plenty good enough for the not so young like us. Also these LEDs just plug in, don't need any fixing or messing around. Don't forget that LEDs are polarity sensative,

  24. Thanks for the info. I have realised that mine's a mk6, Wiki very confusing due to different countries calling it a different mk (I've updated Wiki to help other simple folk like me.) Okay so it will work, now time to find a good value one. I don't think my car has a towing indicator, at least not according to Ford's online manual. Nevertheless, sounds like a relay is a good idea even though sellers say one isn't required for my car. Cheers, Nick

  25. So, I can't find another Ford approved garage near to me, so I will bite the bullet & take it to TrustFord (the above link), which is just up the road from me. At least it will give me peace of mind that the car has been checked over & serviced (Interim) for now.

  28. That's a very pretty ST. Ford bestowed these motors with long life plugs. Yours may be on its second set by virtue of mileage. If its driving fine there's little point replacing them, but when it's time for a service then you could slip some in. Again, if it's driving fine I'd be inclined to leave the leads alone.

  30. Having been driving for over 60 years and having rebuilt engines, gearboxes, back axles on both cars and motorbikes I doubt that. Ever heard of a Burman gearbox? You must have 'cause you know everything don't you.

  33. When my fiesta went into Bristol Street Ford for the glow plug recall they gave me a list of things which were apparently needing doing ASAP. Car was Mot'd a month later with no advisorys at all, and the garage even told me everything would be good for another year at least. I think sometimes it's just a scare tactic to get you paying for the service.

  42. i bet you a pound to a penny the first 2 services were little more than oil changes now at 3 years old your car is approaching the age were replacement spark plugs , air filter , pollen cabin filter , fuel filter , brake fluid and key fob batteries are all advisable regardless of mileage year 3 is not the year to skip in the service program ;-)

  43. Get it done. Certain items degrade nicely with time as well as mileage. A lotn of the service is visual inspection of safety critical items, so you want someone with half a braincell to eyeball the brakes and steering while it's in the air.

  45. 52 years of borrowed time i see this tool is off his head on loony meds i think if hes been driving for 52 years that would make him roughly 69-70 bit worrying that with the accident iv seen with oaps before. lets all hope the car when he hits something he hits an unmanned object. that right there is is just dam right ignorant and hes the type of (choice words) that made me buy a dash cam, i do hope one day you fly past me in a 30-40 mph zone the first time ill do is report you.

  49. Two bucket wash with any shampoo (I personally hate Autoglym products with a passion). Clay with clay bar & lube Purchase some fallout remover. This needs doing to your car once every 6 months ideally if unprotected. It's a great wheel cleaner too. Purchase a Glaze of some sort. This will help fill in the swirl marks and hide them a little. Purchase some tar remover. Wash method to get it up to scratch Two bucket wash Fallout removal Tar removal Clay bar Wash off clay Dry Apply glaze. Apply wax You're done Maintenence wash Two bucket wash Glaze Wax Dry Done Have a look at gloss enhancers too. That way you've got a GLAZE to hide swirls & imperfections, WAX for protection & GLOSS ENHANCER for extra gloss without polishing www.yorkshiredetailing.co.uk - approved resellers of the Highest quality Detailing & Valeting supplies
