  1. Hi I'm James, live out in the countryside. Recently got myself a ex police Escort van in a not very discreet green.

  2. That just looks like ordinary domestic d/s foam tape rather than the proper more powerful stuff intended for plates. I suspect the seller is being "economical with the truth".

  3. quick update time again finally got the Maxton design front splitter on and what a difference to the front end. sorry no before pictures but im sure you all know what the front end of a st-line focus looks like. Still waiting for my standard rear lights and 3rd brake light to come back from the body shop once I have them I will get some pics up that will be about all I will be doing as happy with the overall look of the car now. As all ways feel free to post up your comments. Going over to the isle of white in may for the ford takeover show they have once a year first time attending and look forward to it. Hopefully will get a few good pictures of my car while over there and will post them up in here

  4. Ok thanks guys, the biggest problem is because it only comes on occasionally it'll be a while before we know if everything's worked 😂!

  5. I am no expert on these GTDI engines. But the fuel trims look ok, if there are O2 sensor, MAP or MAF sensor problems, then these usually go out. So fuel system is 1st suspect. I am not sure if the the main pump is in the tank, GTDI engines need a fuel pressure of 1000PSI to 2000PSI or more, so probably not. They will probably have a proper fuel filter to protect that pump and the injectors. A cleaner as suggested by Gavin above would do no harm, but if the fault has been present since before you got the car, it has probably already been tried. Change any fuel filters would be one step, which would probably not be a warranty job. But then if the fault persists, you would have a good case to get a replacement fuel pump under warranty.

  6. looking at the information, it might be a case of dirty in the fuel line system. Try putting in some fuel cleaning and see what that does.

  7. It's a heat exchanger and works both ways, helps to warm up the coolant more quickly after startup and then keeps the oil cooler during hard driving. It's not essential though. It'll be fine to bypass it for normal driving.

  8. Afternoon folks. Well, after a few years defecting to Japanese ownership (i know,....), im back in a Fiesta again. This time, I have a Mk7 Zetec S 1.6 Petrol in Sea Grey. Lovely thing, with only 51k on a 59 plate, so its not done a great deal in its life. Only thing is the wheels have been used as Parking Sensors by the previous owner/s, so they are first job to get sorted, with some fresh rubber for Summer. A few little niggly bits need sorting, like trim clips etc, and a couple of dents in the passenger side door, and a really prominent banging on the OSR! I think this takes my Fiesta ownership now to around 15, mainly Mk1 Fiestas back in the early 2000s.. Here it is...

  10. Up until 2 weeks ago I had 3! Now down to one, my lowly little LX Focus. Though in terms of condition, it's a genuine minter, and everything just works! Unlike my old Merc and even older Celica GT4 which always needed something done, usually fatal, and usually expensive LOL Haven't done any real monkey work since I owned my Datsun 120Y in the 70s! Am on the look out for another car, preferably LPG as I felt awfully smug filling the Merc up for £28!

  11. Yes it does! Owned the car since 2013 77k . . . . . . . . never had a re gas and yes still ICE cold at 166k! Solid! The only thing the mk3 has over the mk2 in my opinion is a nicer interior, dials etc. My main gripes with the mk3 are a/c, brakes are snatchy & steering is over sensitive. I'm with you, however it's amazing what I'll do when the choice is between my pocket and being comfortable in summer 😄 How many cars do you have? Do you maintain them all yourself?

  12. A while back a ScaniaPB was my daily drive for National Express. Hence the name stuck from that time. I now work for a different coach operator doing entirely private hire work in new or very recent coaches through the UK and Europe. In a previous work life I spent many years in the motor industry till I retired. My current driving job is a lot less stressful than my pre retirement one, who would have thought that. Try a search with your favourite search engine for images of a ScaniaPB or Wikipedia for Scania AB Thanks everyone for your help. ScaniaPBman

  13. My handbrake sticks if i leave the car for a day or two, i just leave it off and in gear now luckily i have a flat drive, 2018 Grand C-Max disc on rear.

  14. Oh yeah. Very experienced with that bit.... Almost like Ford's Perma-Glue that they bond headlight lenses with.. I wish that was something I could get a hold of to stick my reflectors in with!

  15. That doesn't look thick and doesn't mention a depth in the ad, pretty sure that's just thin white ones in a roll. The ones that work are the 6mm grey ones - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3x-Number-Plate-Double-Sided-Foam-Adhesive-Fixing-Pads-Sticky-Pads-6mm-Oversized/282818801742?epid=24013520286&hash=item41d950704e:g:ADIAAOSwLUpaZftD I've just seen that there are now plenty of 3M ones on ebay as well...they'll work well but will be impossible to remove after having stuck dashcams on with that stuff!

  16. I wouldn't be at all surprised if your Mk2 AC still works? When I sold mine at 10 years old it was still ice cold! Never even had a regas to my knowledge. They don't make 'em like they used to... Though I must admit I always found the 'volume' of cold air in the mk2 a bit weak...ice cold at the vents but took ages to cool the car down. As you know, I'm still on the lookout for another car but will definitely not buy one without working AC!

  17. For me theres no button either, but on the dash stalk thingy, go to menu and press set, then down once should be ESP, set again and you should be able to choose off, make sure you go back to the menu again and itll turn off ESP and a light will come on for all the time it's off. (It goes back to normal if you turn off ignition anyway) I'll do a video of mine in the morning if you need it? Edit: YT ftw..

  18. Theres no point trying to fix it yourself. That defeats the whole point of buying a new car. If Evans Halshaw dont care, you're not giving them enough grief. Personally I'd be down at the dealership making sure they didnt sell another car till I got sorted out with a full refund, but not everyone is as stubborn as me...

  19. Maybe it was stolen, I have no idea! The car had a long history before we got it so it could have sustained some damage... As I said it all looks pretty corroded so it wouldn't surprise me if it was just down to wear and tear. Don't think Ford will honour the warranty 12 years on! I have ordered a new Mongoose cat back from Collins as Mrs P would like a bit more noise! Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

  20. Not to second guess you but are you totally sure? I was sold on the facelift based on the fact they all had it as standard? Parkers has a write up for the FL: "Cars from 2008 are offered in a re-structured range featuring Studio, Style, Zetec and Titanium trims - plus all cars get ESP as standard." The only difference between mine and yours is the Auto really, but I'd have thought if anything itd have more driving aids being auto? Either way I've definitely learned something if yours doesnt!

  21. The style pack didn't fit with my aesthetic. As you said I swapped the wheels immediately and didn't want red calipers (it's a very easy job to repaint them if I ever change my mind). I know some people are very keen on the illuminated scuff plates but I really don't see the point. Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

  22. There is no ESP that I know off on my car but thanks for mentioning it WWW. I followed your advice, Tom. They clearly don't want to make fiddling with the ABS fuses easy, I found them hidden behind a second cover. Removing the small 10A dagger fuse did the job, just as well since I am convinced the bigger box shaped fuses are welded in. It didn't take long to pin the vibration down to the near side wheel, as you said you can get a speed discrepancy side to side. With the right hand side wheel stopped it was clearly the left one causing the car to shake. Next stop is to have the wheel balance checked, it's only recently had a new tyre fitted there. No sign of any impact to cause buckling etc. By the way I feel quite safe with the setup as described, I have spent a fair amount of time working beside cars on rolling roads with engines powered up, not just fast idling as I was doing. You are correct, if you haven't the experience or the confidence don't do it. ScaniaPBman.

  23. They were thick white ones - this is the actual listing posted just so others can avoid!! Do NOT buy this sticky fixer for number plates!

  24. No there's no difference.

  25. Good move I'd say Tom. I put up with the mk3 Air con not working through last summer; nearly killed me!! Still can't be bothered to get it fixed it'll be a waste of time I reckon and money as it'll probably just leak again somewhere else.

  26. Have you disabled ESP? IIRC its: menu>down x2>esp>off. Should stop it interfering all being well?

  27. Hi All I have completed the chart I was compiling, comparing my car to 4 other models as built config data (details taken from Forscan website) The 4 models I compared against were the 2015 - 2019 F150s, the 2011 - 2015 Explorer, the 2014 Onwards Fusion, and the 2017 Super Duty F150s All of these spreadsheets are available from Forscan on their website As going by what Forscan was telling me, these were all fairly similar to the Edge (I could not locate a Mondeo as built spreadsheet, so settled for the American Mondeo being the Fusion spreadsheet) I have uploaded my comparison chart, which is (or should be) available to view by following the below link (not including the quotation marks) "https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRK8-il4hWKWTts_YJiFlHdfXiqlcXfg880-PP2GDJBN66wpKwyeFuROdgitmFf4Tt6Nk0IvbRafK-v/pubhtml" If you copy the link (without the quote marks) and paste into search bar it should give you my chart I compiled my chart in excel but this forum would not let me attach an excel file As I said earlier (in another post) the nearest as built config I found was that of the 2015 - 2019 F150s, as this had the most module matches to my Edge Though also my Edge has some modules that I copied from my car that do not appear on any of the spreadsheets that I compared against The next step will be for me to make my changes/modifications, but as I have already said, I will be doing this once my warranty has expired (sometime this August) So will post further details after this time Happy motoring Dave

  29. The actual bodyline of the car is different. The horizontal "crease" going across the door handle has 2 bends in it and is a lot sharper of a bend, where the pre-facelift just has a small curve to it.

  30. That one looks tons better and maybe a bit less messing, we have manual back windows, but the condition of the scrap yard one was slightly off putting. Thank you for finding the ebay door, That looks like a perfect door.

  31. Hi there I am new to the site, I own a mk4 mondeo tit x, nothing special but it's my pride and joy. I also spend a lot of time on detailing world. I am hoping for some advice on a few niggles I have with the car.

  32. Yes easily, once the start to go the delaminate very quickly, especially if the roads are a bit rough, best get them changed the handling deteriorats, it will be transformed with new bushes. If you are still worried take it to an independent and get a second opinion.
