Bilz
hi, i was wondering how to clean my ca prooperly and make it shine. is there any steps i have to take e.g. put polish on and then wax it? i used to just polish my old cars (CLIO) by hand but would like a electrical polisher, what machine you you recommend. DanGull
Two sources of info... My Detailing Guide Detailing World All the info you could ever need is on the latter - the former is my attempt to condense things a little. Machine polishers aren't covered in my thread - they fall into two main types - cheap rubbish and things that work. Most 'electric' polishers are the former - ie those sold by Halfords and the like. Good machine polishers come in two main types - random orbital or dual action and rotary. For a beginner I would suggest a good quality RO/DA such as the Kestrel DAS-6. Here's a great starter kit... DAS-6 on RubbishBoys Loads of info on detailing world on how to get results with one - and plenty of decent videos on YouTube too. It's worth mentioning at this point - it's not polish that gives you the shine, polish is used to correct imperfections in the paint, which can help with a deep, full look to the paint, but the shine will come more from the products applied afterwards.
