Getting more power from a diesel engine

Hey! .. i need a bit of advice really i have a 1.8 diesel escort and basically i want to try and get more power from the engine .. is there any way to do this and is it worth it?

not alot you can do to git it to go any faster as ive got the 55 escort van TD and thats slow so im going to put in a 2L zetec engine in thats going to be faster.

Well i was thinkin of little things like ECU and exhaust but like only tiny changes .. what tdi engines would fit the escort?

It is what it is unfortunatly mate.

In America they upgrade a few things and up the boost stupid amounts. They are runnin 10 sec quarter miles!!!!

Not sure why or how but they aint reliable at all.

Best bet is a full engine transplant. I had a 1.8 zetec Escort Van and that was quick. Really quick. Best way to go i think.

Howdy chaps!!

I'm new to this site and new to fords. Had a Honda civic sport that get stolen Feb this year.

Regarding the diesel engines.....would I be right in sying you can turn the on and off boost fueling up and turn the boost up 2-3psi without loosing reliability. I know the 'derv doctor' does these tune ups. Stage 1 is £140 incl. VAT. Which adds approx 28bhp!

Good place to start for me if anyone is sure if it's a good idea etc.?!?!

I got an 1800 SI 98 plate 2 door alloy wheels everything standard.MOT till May Tax till May. Do a straight swap? I'd love a Diesel.
