Shadows Entity
Hi I used the secret menu to find out things to find my potential cold start problem and I noticed a couple of values I wanted to ask about... So I entered secret menu with car running and battery test was at 13.2v When I turned the car off it was at 11.3v Don't know if this is normal for our cars? My previous car the battery was 12v off and 14.4v when it was on Therefore I thought I should see similar figures.... Would be pretty bad if a 2 year old battery is starting to fail already.... While I'm on the subject our battery tray seems to be longer than the battery... Do the diesels have a longer battery than petrols? if so potential upgrade? Just for clarity it's a 1.6 petrol zetec s 2012

PhillFocus
I paid £25 and it was because it has stop start, stop start cars require a gel type battery and they are expensive euro car parts was £200!!!!

SeanW
Aye but if you were supporter on the forum you woulda got 25% off eurocarpartsOnly on non-sale itemsAnd it's a well known fact amongst sticker wielding supporters that each sticker adds 100bhp and improves handling so much that even Maureen from Driving School can give Ken Block a run for his money!!* (*These facts may or may not be accurate...probably not...) Paramanic
Lol and not true if you read it you always get 25% off but only if it's a better deal than on sale at the time lol
Nathan_M
I reckon if you take the car out for a 10+ mile run and use minimal electrics it will recharge back up to 14 something, otherwise plug it in to charge it's only 2 years old. Just for clarity it's a 1.6 petrol zetec s 2012 11.3v is a bit low, if mine dropped as low as that it would be difficult to start, mine is usually about 12v with engine not running and 14v with The stop-start is probably very hard on the battery, and it would probably not last as long as normal but as suggeseted, keepimg it charged up might help Gel-type batteries have different characteristricts than other batteries
