afrocleland
I think it might be too early, but has anyone looked into remapping the Fiesta Red or Black Editions with the 1.0 (140PS) engine? I see some heated debates over these being any different to the 1.0 (125) engines and therefore probably can't be... but I was wondering, has anyone looked into it? afrocleland
Slight update - I've had an email from Superchips who say they "have the method of modifying this vehicle" and "are in the process of arranging development". So from the sounds of it they have something in the pipeline... I wonder what they could get out of it?!?
dmizz93
Sounds promising.. I'd be sceptical about getting a remap on that model though just because the mapping and other components have been changed.. Just wonder whether it will have an impact on durability/longevity of engine and other parts? Obviously they go through rigorous testing anyway but makes me wonder aha That was one of the reasons i opted for an ST over the model in the first place along with the marginal diff in price. afrocleland
To be honest, I'm very unlikely to do something like this. But it's interesting to see the power they can get from this 1.0 engine. One things for sure, small engines are (at least a good chunk of) the future. Willy
Pumaspeed can get 170 bhp out of the current 125bhp version http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/car-Fiesta-Mk75-Zetec-S-10-Ecoboost_1_325.jsp
afrocleland
That's, as the kids would say, "bat !Removed! crazy". I wonder what the limits are on just a remap though? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Willy
150ish bhp http://www.superchips.co.uk/search?make=9&fueltype=3&model=1&variant=2870
MarksST
Pumaspeed have got a bigger turbo for it now, they're hoping for 190-200. Just do whatever ford did to this one.
PaddyWhack
The red/black engine is just a remapped 125ps engine. Superchips will be waiting to get hold of one so they can confirm and test it, then they will overwrite fords map and put there own in. The major hold back of this engine is going to be the turbo. I wouldn't trust it past 160ish really.
afrocleland
I thought there were some minor component differences?
SuperAl
Pumaspeed have released a remap to 178bhp http://pumaspeed.com/viewadvice.jsp?newsID=
dfriel2
Just had a look at those graphs.. Is it me, or does it suggest that the stock engine produces 158bhp?? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
MarksST
It does look that way but, in the description the car had a cat back and Intercooler. They've called their map stage 2 so the car may have already had a remap before going to them. Or optimistic rollers, at 177bhp it won't rival a standard ST as that has 197bhp. Just the usual tuner crap.

SuperAl
They only advertise a stage 2 but looking at this there is a stage 1 as well http://pumaspeed.com/product-MAXD-OUT-Tuning-Box---Fiesta-10-Eco-140ps-Stage-1-and-2_16739.jsp I am a bit dissapointed they didn't start with a totally stock car to see what they can get from that first And a standard ST is 180bhp? Only to comply with EU advertising regs, it's 197bhp on time limited overboost.
Ffoxy
It's not just a re-mapped 120. The new Ford 140 PS/138 BHP 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, features a unique calibration with new settings for turbocharger boost control, valve-timings, intercooler and throttle management to deliver 12 per cent more power. I'd advise caution and if you go for it choose a reputable tuner Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC mobile app
SuperAl
Although its not specified in the article, this shows a stage 1 map option http://pumaspeed.com/product-MAXD-OUT-Tuning-Box---Fiesta-10-Eco-140ps-Stage-1-and-2_16739.jsp Is the air filter/box setup in the red/black the same as the original zetec s?
