Front Mudflap Clips

On my wife's Mk1.5 one of the front mudflaps has lost both of the spring clips and it's flapping around on the single bolt into the sill. Anyone know if there is anywhere I can get some new clips? The car's too old to justify nearly 40 quid on new flaps. I'd rather just take the existing ones off.

On a similar note, my off-side front flap has lost its Torx 30 screw at the top. Consequently dirt/crud is getting between the flap and the bodywork. What diameter/length screw can I use to replace it? Also, how easy is it to remove the clip? Ideally I'd like to remove the flap, clean it up (and the bodywork) then re-fit.

just use some self tapping screws to fix them - 10mm length is more than enough to hold onto the arch liners.

this is what i did with my universal mudflaps.

That's great, thanks. I bought some size 12 self-tappers from Halfords but they seemed too small, so I've ordered the fixings

No, as I said the wife's Focus is a Mk1.5. The Mk2 flaps and fittings are completely different.

Just a quick update to this thread :- I eventually found these clips on amazon, Ford part number F1019287. When I received them I discovered the long leg of the clips were longer than the originals so the top one stuck out slightly so I just trimmed a bit off and then they worked fine. Not bad for a tenth of the price of a new set of flaps and I've got four spares in case I lose any more.

Interestingly when I ordered them they were being sold for £3.19 with free delivery by Allen Ford on amazon Marketplace but now the same link shows them being sold by amazon themselves and they've gone up to £3.97 and no free delivery. Looks like I timed it just right.

Edit: I just noticed they are still available at £3.19 under 'Other Sellers' and Auto-Accessorize was the trading name used by Allen Ford on my order.
