How Much Is This Likely To Cost Me?

Utterly gutted! I picked up my new car today and what's the first thing I do to it? Sodding kerb it!

A full wheel respray around here costs £80, so how much roughly do you reckon it'll cost for a scuff repair? It covers approx half the wheel rims very edge

Try a smart repair guy they are mobile and come to you so are a bit cheaper

Depending on the impact velocity I'm afraid you could have put the tracking out & also unbalanced the wheel.

Thankfully it wasn't a hard impact at any high speed (more parking speed) so it has just shaved the paint off the very edge of the wheel, as said the repairers said it'll be an easy repair.

Just gutted as it was done on the first day of ownership really

Bugger!

I know how you feel, in my last car I managed 6 years without curbing and managed to scuff the front and back wheels on the same day on the same !Removed! curb.

My mate has just had an 18" Merc wheel totally refurb'd for £50, a minor touch up would have been £35

Wheels repaired never look like new, I would get a quote from ford for a new wheel to match your new car

Disagree with that depends one how good the repairer is at their job see my thread from last year post 13 shows a before and after image and I promise you you cannot tell the difference.

Had my old ST alloys professionally refurbed by The Wheel Specialist & I can assure you they were far better than new.

Yes, it does depend on repairer, but the hundreds of wheels I've seen done by numerous different repairers over the 20+ years doesn't change my view unfortunatly

when I got my wheel repaired, I forgot which corner I put it on lol most of them do a perfect paint match service, or its so close that you just cannot see it with the naked eye, but I was more than happy with the job they did on mine. So far I have had two wheels refurbed by two different companies (one after some git nicked my car and the other after my last car crash.

Half the time I even forget which wheels are which!

It should only be around £30 to £40 a wheel anything over that is expensive

£50 for a mobile wheel man to come out and do on the drive / work car park. never had it but I've seen them done before and looked fine, you'll have paint on the tyre for a few days but it'll be fine after.

is the steering wheel still perfectly centred in a straight line?

Yeh the steering wheel is centred perfectly, as said speed of impact wasn't that fast tbh or I'd have been really gutted!

I had it all done today and I'm VERY impressed with the result tbh

I was about to mention these guys. .ive seen their quality in their bodyshop Bentley/porsche/ M5 BMW/ even a Ferrarri were on ramps. Now tell me these guys don't have money issues to go to dealers. I asked for 4 st170 17s & quoted £375 in smoked chrome.
