I was looking on eBay and found a twin exhaust system for a reasonable price i think, similar to an st style and was wondering if it would fit on my Focus mk2 1.8 tdci? it looks like it would but might need a bit of adjusting etc. any help would be appreciated :)

Hi Ollie,

Welcome to the forum,

The above exhaust system will fit all focus from 2005-2011 as it's all the same chassis just different body panels.

These duplex exhausts are designed to hang from focus ST exhaust hangers,

Holes have been pre-drilled in the chassis by ford on the production line; to support these brackets on both sides of the car.

the brackets and rubber hangers are available from Ford for under 30 pounds for all four items.

Fitted:

Now the duplex exhaust you have linked above is a good aesthetic upgrade it looks the part.

But it doesn't specify wheater it is designed for petrol or diesel engines.

The muffler in a petrol exhaust is different to the one in a diesel,

Fitting a petrol muffler to a diesel can damage the turbo by restricting exhaust flow causing heat build up and cavitation.

The above duplex exhaust is designed to replace the stock 1.75" exhaust system from the rear silencer back and is manufactured from mild steel which has been powder coated.

Stone chips will perforate the coating causing blistering and rust.

Overall it will last five years at the most but if you don't plan on owning the car in five years time then it's a good bang for buck item that looks the part.

However for a bit more money;

You can upgrade to a wider diameter Diesel 2.5" full cat back duplex exhaust custom manufactured in T304 Aircraft Stainless Steel.

This exhaust will outlive every other part of the car.

Shipped from PiperPerformance in the UK straight swap.

Choice of tips including ST replica,

I chose Oval tips to match the Ford badge on the boot panel;

The duplex can be purchased from Piper performance website but I purchased mine 50 pounds cheaper through Zen Sports in the UK, there also available through eBay

Piper have used wind tunnel technology to perfect the duplex split resulting in equal levels of steam exiting both tail pipes as saw on winter mornings

Purchased from Fordpartsuk.com

there's an email address on the site you can contact directly for parts and they accept PayPal

think they were 35GBP for all four items.

saying that though; I bought both my must type washer jets from ford for 8 Pounds now there almost 30 pounds each.

Ford change prices if they see popularity.
