front brake upgrade

hi there

my car 2003 5door lx

looking for some info as google hasn't turned up anything.

will the st front brakes fit as a direct replacement for the standard (I'm assuming they are a better quality set up).

will I need to space the wheels for calliper clearance,  as running steelies
