Marconi
Hi, just having an issue when turning聽slowly at a junction or parking. Theres a knocking sound coming and you can feel a slight strain when turning.聽 Had it at a local garage who have聽said its the steering rack. All in all its going to be approx 拢1500 to fix.. 馃檨 Cars is 2015 new model, done 55,000miles unfortunately the warrenty expired in March.聽 Anyway Ford could contribute to this cost? Shouldnt be happening to a 3 year old car!. Open to thoughts on this?聽
thanuttiscotsman
Are you sure it's the rack? The symptoms you describe could easily be a knackered lower arm ball joint or even a strut top mount. Get a second opinion from a trusted mechanic.聽 Had a customer with the exact same problem, the car only clunked when she parked in her car park at home at the exact moment when she turned from left lock to right lock. Was the lower arm ball joint. Rossco聽
Marconi
Hi Rossco, Thanks for your reply,聽 Had it in the local ford dealer garage today, they've said it's a broken bolt on the Steering rack,聽 Awaiting to hear back from them to see what cost will be, or the outcome.聽 Cheers
