jddevel
Hi All, First post and I`m after some information please. Besides my Ranger I`m considering upgrading my MG using the Sierra Series 9 gearbox. I`ve been offered a box from a 90s 1.8 but not familiar with the set up with the car. Can anyone tell me what the box is likely to be and whether it`s a long or short shaft.
kingsblue
It's usually known as a type 9 gearbox, I think the long input shaft was fitted to the 2.8i capri and early sierra XR4i although I'm sure they could be modified. It's a rare gearbox now, people seem to retro fit them to the MK1 and MK2 escorts and kitcars with the crossflow/pinto/zetec engines.
