A lot of Condensation on Windscreen

Featured Replies

I had a 2001CY Mk5 Fiesta for 20 years that always heavilly condensed inside in damp winter conditions. It could even be clear on entry then would instantly steam up. Even tried opening windows before shutting the doors & putting blowers on, but nothing stopped it.

A rubber blade run across the screen would drip with water!

Ironically have treated ourselves to a brand new Fiesta and it does extactly the same!

Have had dozens of other Ford cars and never had any issues like the Fiesta - somethng unique about that design.

No evidence of damp or smell in the car - just a real nuisance to live with.

  • Salt is an excellent water absorber! If the car isn't used much, get a few cereal bowls and put an inch of salt in each one of them, a bowl in each footwell & one in the boot will really pull out

  • Are you doing short trips with the AC on?  If so, try switching it off for the last couple of miles to air out the evaporator before parking. Also, do you leave doors open for a while?  I went ou

I have the same on my 2011 titanium 1.6,never had it last year and no leaks in the boot or on the floor.

I think it's down to our weird weather,16c in January and now -1 and nothing but damp and rain.

Hi, I also get a lot of condensation on my front screen, and the instrument binnacle on cold mornings in my MK8 fiesta.  Additionally my doors are stuck closed and my electric windows won’t operate in freezing conditions. I’m definitely getting water in the car but inside all the carpets etc are dry! It’s under warranty and Ford have had it for a few days but of course didn’t find anything wrong.
I don’t believe all the “reasons/excuses” given as to why this occurs ie air con off/on windows up/down etc I’ve owned many cars and this is the only one with this issue. If anyone has a solution please let me know as I love the car and want to keep it but this issue is a real problem.

This has been mentioned before on early mk8 fiestas. Currently have two mk8's, 2019 and 2021 and neither appear to suffer from any internal condensation on the screen, windows or instrument clusters.

I suggest there must be an issue where moisture is getting in somewhere but it is very hard to find if not causing noticeable damp patches.
