Hi all I had my air con regassed  a couple of days ago on my MK3 focus but it isn't blowing cold I can hear the clutch engage on the compressor and the garage that filled it said it held pressure I can't hear the fan kick in on the radiator could that have something to do with it thanks

Did it blow cold after it was regassed? If so it could be leaking. The mk3 focus condensers (a radiator in front of your main radiator) are the common cause and this was the problem with mine. Garages, like Kwik fit will do a vacuum test, which they did on my system, but they either did not detect a pretty substantial leak in the condenser, or chose to ignore it.

You need a local car AC specialist to do a proper leak test really. Shouldn’t cost much for them to diagnose the problem and find where the leak is if there is one.

Cost of repair of course will depend on the problem or where it’s leaking etc.

If the clutch is kicking in and most importantly, staying in, then you've got enough pressure. If its kicking in (engaging) and disengaging constantly, then you've not got enough pressure in the system. The rad cooling fan runs at reduced speed when the a/c is on, but the speed controller might be faulty. If it is faulty, it will still run at normal speed when switched by the coolant temp sensor. On my 02 Mondeo, the speed control is a resistor which just rusts away, so is a common fault. The fan NOT running wont stop the a/c from getting cold.

Any mod think it's worth doing a 'sticky' on A/C as fault queries arise every week on this frail system? 🧐

Nearly all are due to leaks, from the condenser, or associated pipework, or a faulty (often leaking) compressor. Numerous threads on this forum continuously covering the same ground...
