Boy, are you ever over thinking this LOL It's called a 'smart' charger for a reason. This is my original charger bought 40 years ago... I use to have to measure the voltage regularly, decid

  • Another good reason to hang on to our Mk2.5

  • When the battery is charged with the vehicle battery cable(s) connected there is no reason to reset the BMS manually. On a battery that has a reduced capacity as a result of wear manually resetti

No it hasn't but I'm often told that I'm a few cells short from time to time 🤔

Finally got round to putting the charger on the Focus today.

4.5 hours.  11.7v to 13.6v.  Only 2 bars solid, third flashing.  Can't see any colours on the screen.

Will have to try and give it another few hours next weekend!

Tom, shade your hand over the screen, the 'colour' is a subtle back glow of the whole LCD display, when charging, it's red, when done, it's green. If you are staring in sunshine, you'll never see the difference...

The first time I used the maypole it charges (automatic) for 5 hours before going green.

the next charge was about half as long.

Winter I think.  I didn't know that could be changed though, thought it was part of the auto-select?

Don't sweat it Tom, it'll work it out...

Yeah, I did read that before.  It doesn't look like you can manually select the winter mode though?

You can initially press the 'mode' button and it will cycle through the options. TBH, I don't ever remember doing that and my battery has always bee safely charged!

"Automatic"

That means it is "Reactive", not "Proactive"

Old Joke...

"We are now flying at 30,000ft, the aircraft is in Automatic Pilot, and nothing can go wrong... go wrong, go wrong, go wrong....

Seems like a lot of effort...

Not much more than pressing the "Lock" button on the drivers door as we haven't got "Auto lock" on the Focus 😆
