Edgar A
I was on Friday in a Ford Workshop for an yearly service. Requested an maps update. It last for almost 2 hours and was free of charge. It updated to F11 maps (earlier I had F7). Also na sync update was done, even I already updated via car wifi to 3.4. They said that the sync update was offered after the F11 maps were instaled. Mark-UK
Done my today, and it's fixed the speak and spell and also the lack of traffic info on my system. When following a route the voice commands seem much snappier and not had any stutter yet.
andyxx1
I would really like to know how you upload the log file after the maps have been updated. I used the USB and now have the HTML. Now what?

Karbonfaiba
Also getting frustrated with this delay now. Since I rarely use the satnav, I had no idea the 49418 update corrupts the voice as bad as it does, I'd cry if I didn't laugh. "Enter the roundabout and take the 2nd... onto the-... take the 2nd-... continue to fol-.. in miles- make a slight right n-..." I've generated and submitted a log file every month, for the last 3 months. Ford are clearly very slow at making the "owner packages" from the master update files. I'm now considering the CyanLabs route.

That's even worse! How can we know what the root cause was? GB5T-14G386-AD.tar LU5T-14G386-CA.tar These were in included in my Map_49418_Update.zip

GB5T-14G386-AD.tar LU5T-14G386-CA.tar These were in included in my Map_49418_Update.zip The first one is the log generator. The second one renames autoinstall.lst to autoinstall.bak to stop it going in a loop. Neither does anything to Sync.
Karbonfaiba
Makes sense, thanks for the explanation Alex. I have opened a case with the CV team I figure if they are triaging a list of VINs to fix, let me be on the list, at least.
Sneezy24
Wish I could get a response to my emails to UKCRC1@ford.com Zero response so far. Anyone have the CEO email? If so, suggest we ALL send an email requesting this is fixed. Copy What Car, Honest John etc....

Strangely I had the 49418 update & installed it, took the whole of 1 minute. Thus did produce a log file on the USB which I uploaded via the ford website portal. Strangely since this update the voice guidance has gone slightly corrupt on my system??

Paulius55
I have just updated mine to 3.4.23088 and F12 maps via the CyanLabs route and it went without a hitch. I haven't regretted doing it this way as mine was originally stuck on 3.0 SYNC via the Ford method. Having said that, I nearly always use Android Auto and Google Maps or Waze anyway as the maps are up to date and traffic is properly dynamic.

Many Thanks I went the cyanlabs route to the latests Sync 3.4.23088 and F12 maps, as far as I'm aware the cyanlabs method always downgrades then formats the system before putting a full clean install on. Worked perfectly for me and fixed several issue from my previous version, Speak and Spell - fixed Traffic Info - fixed Radio EPG - fixed After the master reset all my radio logo are present

SgtAWilson
Ive got the newer APIM (MY20), so at the moment im avoiding the CYANLABS route and sticking with the official ford path (unfortunately)
Karbonfaiba
Brief update; I was also given the "take it to your dealer" initial response. Which of course is not applicable - as I am reporting a Ford platform issue. My vehicle is only relevant in so far that I am a genuine Ford customer reporting an issue. No change to the voice or Satnav. Sneezy24, mins done exactly the same & it has for many others. On the Ford portal it still shows as a map update is available. When you download it, it's the file named 49418which is a 49KB small log file. God knows when Ford UK will correct it.
tiagofonseca
Same prpblem here. Tha 49k update does nothing... And the voice control on the nav isn't working. The dealer doesn't know what to do. They are trying to get answers from Ford Europe.
Karbonfaiba
Well that makes 3 of us that have done the non-update and it has broken something with the navigation. Nobody reading this should run this Map_49418_Update. If you have, join me and others in sending emails to UKCRC1@ford.com
