Latest Maps?

Featured Replies

Just found a map update, downloaded the file and it is only 49K (yes, k). File is Map_49418.zip, it decompresses to just over 50K - two files: GB5T-14G386-AD.tar.gz and LU5T-14G386-CA.tar.gz

Seems very small.

Current Sync is 3.4.22200

I am on F10 maps.

Anyone else tried this? I'll give it a go later.

That's just the XML log utility.

If it is offering it, it must want to get the latest state of your system before offering an update.

The latest maps is F11, that will be about 20GB+

I thought it might be that. Tried it in the car, ran OK, produced the .xml log file which I have uploaded to Ford.

It accepted it, states that there is an update available, which is exactly the same file!

I'll give it an hour or two then check again.

BTW - my maps are F11 (not F10) before I did anything today.

I noticed this yesterday when I visited the Ford sync site.

As alex states, its just the log utility.

I think there must be a glitch (as ever) with the ford site.

I'm being offered the same, I'd just ignore it for now.

Might only be useful for some who've struggled to get latest updates or the XML to upload correctly.

I'm up-to-date with maps F11 and was offered this tiny 49 KB update too.

Why does it trouble Ford to write a version next to "Update Available", or anywhere, is maps F12 out or not?

The maps files usually leak first (as do the system updates) a good 6 months before once they start being tested and I've not seen any F12 maps leak.

You and a hundred thousand others. It's a well known common problem. Eventually in a few months it will sort itself out like it normally does.

Ah that's what I thought/hoped, before I updated the navigation I updated Sync three as instructed, via USB, then uploaded the 'Log File' the update added to my USB Drive to confirm update; the Ford Pass site instantly advised that it had been successful.

I then updated the Navigation, again via USB, it took an hour and 45 minutes! a 'Log File' was again created and uploaded, but this time it didn't state successfully, it just loops back to the 'update required' page. I thought I had done something wrong; it's reassuring to read here that it may not be the case especially as it took so long I do not want to do it all over again!

Well it seems to have paid off contacting them about the problem! Which incidentally has now been resolved and Ford have offered me a £75 Amazon voucher . . . . . bonus!👍👏

Hmm, what did you write to get that then?  'Cos the website still isnt fixed and that voucher would come in handy at the moment.

Website still offers the little zip file that just interrogates the Sync system - not a map update!

Have you not updated to the F13 version 010423 maps ?  😉

Just updated mine to version F11 this morning, same problem for me it still says I need an update and loops back around, I’ve already contacted ford myself.

I see that on some forums, the F12 maps have been found on the Ford servers!

HI

Has anyone loaded the latest offering from cyanlabs yet ( 3.4.23088 and F12 maps) if so any problems.

Many Thanks

I upgraded to latest sync version and F12 maps on Saturday. No issues.

Did mine last Thursday, no problems so far.

If it had been offered, I would! But Ford doesn't offer a map update (just the little file that checks the levels).

Perhaps I should run this - again - and re-upload to Ford to see if it nudges their system into life.

I won't hold my breath!!!

Ran it again uploaded the .xml.....

It still offers me the little file.....

I've contacted ford at [email protected]

I've highlighted the delay in fixing the website download of maps, that others have reported this & asked them to escalate to website managers, technical people responsible etc.

An initial response said - 'contact your dealer'. 😞 I responded 'more vigorously', pointing out that third party sites like Cyanlabs, have documented the links on Ford's site & even have a tool to download from Ford's servers & construct create USB's for installation; this reflects badly on Ford.

I have been told that this has been escalated & that I would be contacted again in a weeks time.

I shall update this thread when I hear back from Ford.

Thanks for your reply

Two things :-

1/ Are the radio logos still there after updating ?.

2/ How long did it take.

Many Thanks
