I was still at school when the Mk2 ST was released.  Always wanted one in Electric Orange!  Eventually had to settle for a diesel in grandad spec instead.

Anyone watch the new Car SOS last night?  I think @unofix would have appreciated it!

OMG Tom, I literally have (and still wear) shirts older than you! Car SOS, was that the Toyota MR2? I loved that car, drove one once, great fun!

I was hoping someone would comment on this, what an amazing drama. I've been aware of this since it started 2 decades ago. All stems from Tony Blair initiating a £1 Billion computer 'upgrade' for the

The government has had 20 years to act on this issue, today's announcement was pretty disgusting. Far too little, far far too late... Bless ITV for bringing it to the world's attention!

I know I'm late to the party, but just caught up with this show. Must confess that I wanted to slap the owner of this 306! All niggly faults, but why would someone ignore them? Faulty door mirror, lea

Just checked all episodes of series 11, can't see a Uno?

Ah, never mind then.   Trouble is, they list them as 'new' on the program guide.  But often they've already aired or streamed elsewhere first.

1.3 turbo, they added  an extra elastic band, looked decent with the body kit

I missed it, I'll have to try and catch up. Interested to see what I missed 😉

Turns out it's not that new after all...you may have already seen it!  Was a grey Uno turbo.

I watched it when first aired, you'd have thought the owner would have shown more gratitude after getting a free £70,000 restoration on his crumbling car!

This is definitely a generational thing lol.  "I've done X for you so now you owe me".

I've never seen it that way.  I like helping people.  Not bothered by the reaction from the them.  Some people are able to show gratitude better than others.  Some go so far over the top it looks fake and forced.

Must admit, I've always found the premise of Car SOS uncomfortable.  They spend a load of time and money rebuilding a scrap car for someone who generally doesn't have long left and is often no longer able to drive anyway.  Often wonder if they really get any use out of the car.

If you watch any of the older repeats, they often have a splash screen at the show end, 'in memoriam' to the person they did the car for. I know I shouldn't, but I often envy the  lucky inheritors of such a mint vehicle!

Even worse when they don’t ever see the car, like the Elise and intergrale episodes,

Another programme - probably somewhat marmite...

Footage Detectives on Talking Pictures TV

If you like nostalgia, it's a relaxing watch with some gentle humour. If not, you'll find it dead boring.

As they say on the programme itself "it's the best programme to fall asleep in front of".

Just finished binge watching series one, all 6 episodes of Blue Lights. One of the best police dramas I have seen, though I am biased as it is made, and based in Belfast! A real gritty drama, with warts & all of policing here. So good, that on episode 2 I googled to see if it had been recommissioned for another series - it has. (Available on BBC iPlayer)

We've watched the first 2 and quite enjoyed them but I think I'm going to have to get the subtitles up as we're struggling with the accents at times! 😃

Stumbled upon a new show today, 'Jane McDonald - My Yorkshire'. (Ch5) Now don't laugh, I'm of an age where Jane is a fine looking woman! Must admit the Yorkshire countryside looks wonderful! She also visited a fabulous vintage car museum with an inclusive rustic cafe, looked a real good day out!

Anyone catch a new TV show on 'Yesterday' channel (No. 155 on Sky) called, "Retro Electro Workshop"? It's like the BBC Repair Shop specifically for vintage electronic stuff, 1st episode was about a guy restoring an old valve radio, then a 1980s Atari. Really interesting, I even learned how to solder properly after decades of making a mess of it LOL His workshop, fill of 30 years of bits, was wonderful to see...

Damn missed it been saying all last week i need to watch, it'll be on catchup hopefully.

I saw bits of it during the adverts on Bake Off Professionals... :whistling:  Annoys me that the schedule planners seem to put several decent programs on during the same hour or two, then nothing for the next few days!

I always find the 'Secrets of the Underground' programs interesting, despite having no interest in trains and only ever using the underground once many years ago (in fact, I think we even used an overground part of it lol).  It's all about the presenters I guess, when they're showing passion and energy for a subject, it makes it more engaging.

I also enjoyed the 'Earth' program with Chris Packham earlier this week on BBC2.

May I also recommend a little 6 part gem on BBC2 (currently on repeat) - called, 'The Secret Genius of Modern Life, presented by Hannah Fry. The 1st episode which is the series hook as it is excellent, is about the ubiquitous credit card, how it came about, how it's evolved, presented in an intelligent, and easily digestible way...

I caugth a bit of that, the presenter was showing the 9 metres of filament wire that goes into every card, and that you didnt need the plastic bit just the chip.
