I'd be curious if you dropped them a line asking for a close up photo of the 'e' marking on the bulb what the response would be...

    It will be an MOT failure if noticed by the tester. It is still illegal in the UK to replace halogen headlight lamps with LED, no matter what the claims of the maker are.

    Thank you that's all I need to know. I'll stick with the halogen 200% brighter bulbs. As I know these really are road legal. Hopefully regulation Will catch up with technological advancements one day.

    I think you are really overthinking the 'legality' of LED bulbs. What's the worst that can happen, you get a really sharp MOT tester (!) and you fail, though in the mean time, you can actually drive safely in the dark. The critical thing is to ensure that your get the headlights properly aligned so that you are not blinding anyone, a minor procedure I wish more people would follow! It's not as if you'd get a criminal record and thrown into clink!
