So tomorrow is MOT and a diagnostic. ..spent all day cleaning the car up...I ordered a new obd reader mine kept saying error deleting codes etc..the one I now have gives me the option of live data   it arrived this evening, I used it in and found a entry for the EGR in the live data see photo...I am a bit confused as the EGR should have been mapped, could I have found the problem? Also the new one found no codes but said codes were erased 3 miles ago does this mean anything....Thanks

Ps also added a pic of the car after a tart up..

Car is back mech could find no issues with the ecu and map, he did find a temp sensor on the dpf hadn't been connected and had put a code on....It has passed MOT with no advisories....i took it for a short run and notice some smoke but I was in 5th and pulling up a slope but cleared as soon as liad was off...just going to run it now if anymore issues may try injectors now I know how to code them..lol...

Glad to hear it passed MOT.

Interesting that the DPF temp sensor triggered a code.  I was told to leave mine unplugged after the DPF removal.  Never had a code triggered.

Looks good too.  Not usually a fan of aftermarket mods but the chrome corners actually look alright with the rest of the Titanium chrome.

Hi...not posted on.this topic for a while as car has been good passed MOT with no advisories  and no smoke...until yesterday revs bouncing about after revving up clouds of black smoke and soot / deposit  on the ground...today my  son removed the sensors on the throttle I think.they are air intake temp and map sensor and cleaned them with carb cleaner..done a quick trip to shops and it started again only this time the fan was on but was nowhere near up to temp I may be clutching at straws but I think.i will be changing all the sensors including.the MAF sensor..ps ECU map has been checked, no codes car runs fine except was a bit rough after he cleaned sensors today not using any oil fuel mpg ok'ish..only other thing is injectors £££ lol

Hi

recently been having problems with my 1.6tdci. I noticed fuel pooling around the injectors and a lot of steam / smoke coming from the engine bay. so I replaced all the seals and torqued it all down but there still seems to be a lot of steam / smoke around the injector area in the engine bay. Just wondered if anyone’s experienced this or has a fix for it. I’m assuming it might have something to do with the thermostat because it never reads that the car is getting hot enough in the car but at this point I’m out of ideas any help would be much appreciated

If they are still leaking after new seals the seats probably need recutting, plenty of cheap injector seat recutting tools on eBay. Just make sure everything is spotlessly clean and of course new seals.
