NeilMc1983
Hey, I'm hoping to track down the owner of my first ever car. She was an Escort Finesse 1.6 but I spent a fortune modifying it in to a GTI The reg was S277 KLM, black 3 door. She's been SORN since 2013, of she's no longer around, I'd still like to contact the owner in hope I could buy the reg back. If anyone has any information on her or the owner, please do contact me on 07411406505
unofix
I'd suspect that it's gone to car heaven by now.
NeilMc1983
Thanks mate, I do suspect that. But I can't find any record of her being officially scrapped. Does that mean there's a chance the owner could still have the log book or could potentially request a new one, then I could buy that from them? I've seen a couple of 3dr black GTI's for sale which I could transfer her reg to. One of my biggest mistakes in life was getting rid of her 😞

NeilMc1983
Thanks mate, I've attached a pic of what she was like when I first got her. A lot of love and attention went into her.
NeilMc1983
Would anyone be able to tell me what the vin number is for her? Reg S277 KLM? I've got a few old pics of the engine bay/lower part of the window screen, but the resolution is so low, I can't make out the VIN. Thanks in advance:)

DaveT70
If you pop into Aldi you will find it in the tinned section, possibly peas, possibly beans 🤪 That's long gone When breakers yards buy cars to break, then scrap, they never tell DVLA

So in the eyes of the DVLA, it still exists, as it was never officially scrapped. It thinks it's just rotting away in someone's garage when we all know with 99.9% certainty it's gone. I owned it when it was only 9 years old and rust was already well established. The passenger footwell had a hole the size of a dinner plate and you could see the road like the Flintstones. 😂 I sold it to a lad in Wales in 2008/9 and someone is selling white GTI alloys on eBay right now from Wales. I've messaged asking if he knows the origins of these wheels, but no response from him .
