Rodders69
Hi There has been no indication of any problem with the steering column lock in the past. However today I unlocked it as normal, moved the car, stopped and took the key out and it will not lock. Any ideas please? Roddber69
TomsFocus
The steering lock is just a simple mechanical lever & spring setup on cars of this age. The only way it can fail in the off position is if the lever has got 'stuck' due to lack of use and damp/corrosion. In which case, give the column/wheel a slap and that'll probably free it off. Or if the spring has broken. In which case, the steering lock assembly will need to be replaced.
