Help coding seats and wheel

Featured Replies

Hello, 2019 mk8 fiesta st line

I may of made a slight boo boo.

Not sure if all are related but hey sure someone will hopefully tell me.

I tried to re code the HVAC module in the car as it showed some climate control faults, faults still remain but now my seats and heated wheel no longer work, buttons don't light up.

I also have a Airbag light associated with a restraint control module that will not clear at all I've tried everything

Any ideas? I have logged into forscan and checked the seats are disabled and it appears they aren't.

I think when I enabled a some seat things on forscan it's created the airbag light but remembering what I did I disactivated them and still no joy.

Well the first lesson when using FORScan is always to save the original set up BEFORE you make any changes. So when you make a mistake you can always go back. You did save the original settings before you made the changes didn't you ????????? Oh that was a no !! 🙄

You're lucky that using FORScan you can download your vehicles "AsBuilt" file from Ford and reinstall that. It will of course put your BCM back to the way the car was when it left the factory and wipe out any changes you've made.

Go to the engineering page in FORScan. Make sure that both the laptop battery and the car battery are fully charged. The laptop will need to be within range of a good WiFi signal. At the bottom of the page on FORScan you will see a small Tab marked 'AB' which is the AsBuilt page. Open that and follow carefully the instructions. You will need the £12 FORScan licence to be able to use this, or the 2 month free trial licence.

No I think I have saved it and when I tried uploading the settings it's not made any difference. The as built files I downloaded and also made no difference.

The heated buttons on screen and climate control don't work at all don't light up or turn on.

Some one maybe said it could be the BCM?

You need to remember what modules you went in and faffed with

then go through each module

click "download asbuilt"

click edit all or save all, can't remember

Click change all or write all, can't remember

Reset module

For each module you made changes to

You see, this is why ForScan scares the bejesus out of me as I have zero knowledge of what I'm doing. The only time I have used it is under strict guidance from folk on here like @unofix and @TomsFocus. Even then, I fully expected my car to become a giant paperweight 🙂

I think it is definitely my doing and trying to fix it now is going to be difficult. I have tried suggested but hasn't resolved the issues

There's so many how-tos on FORScan, but people just ignore it

Any suggestions who can help lol or where I can take it too in essex

If you've uploaded all the original asbuilt files on the modules you'd changed.  Disconnect the battery for half an hour to force all of the modules to reboot after reconnection.

you could try and contact FORScan, with logs, they may be able to tell you what you've done

You do have internet whilst your connected to car?
