They now want to have the injectors tested to see if they are spraying correctly but before that they will check they are actually spraying now as there is enough pressure for them to open

  • Hi all let me start by saying thank you to all who have helped me with fault finding. So after a new fuel filter and injectors the car is back to life and running. Thank you all. Hopefully this maybe

  • Bring up RPM in Live Data in FORScan and check that it is not showing zero when the Engine is being cranked. It is probably not this but if there is no signal from the Crankshaft Position Sensor

  • If the injectors won't fire, then the engine won't keep running after the EasyStart has been used up. That does rule out the battery/starter motor at least.  It doesn't rule out the crank sensor

Here is the fuel pressure after the new high pressure pump is installed but still not starting any ideas ? Or is checking the injectors the best way to go now

If the old HP pump was worn inside then that will usually damage injectors.  But they should still attempt to fire at least.  I've got a bad feeling this may be a PCM fault but I'm really not sure what the best next step is on this one.

There is another member with an almost identical fault but on the older 8v engine.  Sadly that's had a new HP pump now and still doesn't work.  I don't know whether both will end up being the same cause or not.

This is all the dtc codes all seem to be battery related but it's expected as the battery got low yesterday when cranking

Spoken to the garage they will check how the injectors are spraying as before they were not firing at all so will be an idea to see if they are firing now after the HP pump has been changed. So will know more tomorrow

Ok quick update for you garage has opened up old HP pump and it's full of metal this is why the injectors are all completely screwed. 4 new injectors and new fuel filter ordered and on the way. Once installed will let you know the outcome

Hopefully this will bring the car to a conclusion and starts as the injectors and fuel filter not cheap to say the least but will let you know as I know many people once it's sorted don't come back to say what happened

Hi sorry only just seen this. Mechanic said they did not need coding but he did look at programming them in. Please note if your high pressure pump is failing putting new injectors in will only get blocked again. Fortunately the Mechanic checked the pump properly and saw it was damaged. All the best with it.
