There has been 2 issues with the new focus so far.

1. Only on 1.6 Petrol's a pump never turned off even when car was off meaning dead battery's. Was only on a small batch of cars and was sorted at dealers once problem was known about

2. Once again only on a small number of cars we only cam across 1 so far. We had a car with auto stop/start built and delivered to the dealer with the wrong car battery in it. Apparently it does not use the same battery as a normal car due to the stop/start.

Once again both very rare both sorted at dealer before given to customers

I've had the titanium model for about a month now, 1.6 tdci 115ps and overall I'm very pleased with the car. Must say I haven't had any faults regarding stop, start, it has worked perfect every time.

The problem, if you can call it that? is fuel consumption. I know the figures in the 'book' are 55 urban, 67 combined and 76 extra, I don't expect to get those figures but I would of thought somewhere near?

On the dash it says I'm a advanced driver giving top rating for economy driving so it isn't as if I'm hammering the car, in fact I'm as light as possible but my figures are about 43 urban and no matter what I drive like on the motorway I can't get the consumption above 53 or 54, that seams well below the figures or 67 and 76.

Any advice or experience from fellow users with the same engine as it seams the car is doing about 10 mph less than it should be doing? or is this normal?

Hi, I'd say normal, manfacturer figures are rarely met because of the way they are tested. You might find yours gets better though when the engine loosens up a tad..

a tough one there mate,i could have had a zetec with the appearance pack-ie 17's and privacy glass,or a titanium with 18's and citypack,but i went for the titanium and they have gave me tints for free because there were no prebuilds with 18's and a hefty discount though i am still trying to find somewhere that will let me swap wheels with cash.

Personally youve got a great choice there whatever you decide but i would go for the titx because your getting more essential kit and the 17's in my opinion look better than the 5 spoke 18's which depending on the colour of the car look a bit aftermarket,and you get xenons which is the thing i will miss most i think.

I like the keyless entry option and don't realy ;ike the standard alloys on either model ( so far as to say the multispoke option for the zetec look nice)

my god that is a long time to wait, my collegues been waiting since the 20/6 for a build date for his and if i order now it looks like i will be waiting forever.

my local dealer has said he hasn't seen a single 2.0 tdci at any of their dealerships since launch. your post explains this.

I may go for an astra in that case as I don't get my salary increase until my car arrives due to my existing car being owned by a different opco at present.

just read your post again, i really need to consider other options as i would not be prepared to wait 28 weeks, over 6 months wait is ridiculous

There is alot of 1.6 Ecoboosts around as this was Ford launch car. We looked on the system the other day there was only3 or 4 dealer delivered unsold 2.0TDCi Focus TitX and same amount of Titaniums too.

To be fair maufactures everywhere have waits.

Kia Sportage and Hyundi (4x4 thing like the sportage) Upto 4 - 5 months

VW 4x4 same wait as Kia etc

Kuga noice a quick turn around aslong as it not an auto but even autos are now around.

Just depends on what you are after. Maufactures dont just throw cars throught production anymore to have them sitting in compounds costing them money.

Hi, it didn't seem to matter with my present car, got £9.5 P/X for a Mk3 set until the car arrives. Only paid £18k for it, from buyacar, thats over 50% residual value :P

I think it looks good, will be even better when tinted as you say. I prefer more spokes than fewer, so I like both yours and the 17s over the 5 spokes. Just down to personal taste isn't it.

:D thanks,i must admit i do like the alloys i just wish they were that little bit bigger to fill the arches,like the optional zetec wheels,its a pity ford didnt give the titanium them ones as standard,though ive checked both the 18 inch five spokes and the 17 inch multispokes on how much there tyre size's are on camskill,both of them are more expensive than my currant focus st tyre size! must be because they are not common.

Hi, I agree the wheel choice are just down to personal taste. Strange though you foun the tyres for the 18" expensive, I've got the same size on my Mk4 Mondeo and the Falkens were only £90 each plus fitting. What tints are you having and why not the privacy glass?
