Fear not guys , if you buy a ELM 327 code reader and download the Russain FF2 program you can do it yourself see my new guide.

http://www.fordowner...__fromsearch__1

If the wiring is in place you can activate it yourself :) I did mine this morning

use the image if you want mate i have no issues and if they ask no its standard and was not activated by anyone the car came like that

Using the Russian software, I enabled this last night. This morning the warning came up straight away, this could well be the case as I haven't filled it up for a couple of weeks. What would happen if you enabled this but didn't have the sensor on the bottle, would it come up all the time or would it never come up? Just trying to make sure I'm not getting a false positive.

You could be getting a false reading, easy to check, fill the water bottle up and see if the light goes out. I guess you have already thought of this though. Keep us posted.

Will fill it up when I get home from work tonight, fingers crossed the light goes out, although I'll be a bit miffed that a Titanium spec car doesn't have such as basic feature.

Also strange that the softwarre to program a Ford is in Russian.

Why strange? This is not genuine Ford software. Russians were smart enough to create such software, so it will not come in English, German, French or any other.

Stranger still, that you have the same spec car as me, yours is 2 years newer, yet you don't have the low fluid warning as standard

How's that work then?

Well mine is a 2010 tit , and there is no low warning installed in the washer bottle , it gave a false positive with the russian software , so after checking my washer bottle i disabled it again as it was coming on approx 5 seconds after starting the car.

Maybe hit and miss or like some one has said , maybe only if you have head light washers on newer models.

Standard halogen headlights on mine, no washers, no self leveling... lights are auto though, which i think is a standard titanium feature.

God knows mate. Just been out to check the car after filling the washer fluid and the warning light came on after a few seconds so it looks like I'll have to turn that back off. So a basic feature doesn't even exist on a Titanium spec, what's the point in buying that spec?!

Yeah, I have the auto headlights too. I sometimes wonder why my Titanium is different. It doesn't have a body colour rear spoiler, the Titanium badge is in the recess where the side indicators would be on a standard spec car, not a badge on the back. It doesn't have a quickclear windscreen. It does have half-leather seats.

No quickclear? 6 gears though? Auto wipers etc? That's a strange one regarding the side repeaters... Are your side repeaters housed in the mirrors instead? That would explain that badge...

No heated front windscreen, no heated window washers, has auto lights, auto wipers, auto dimming rear view mirror, indicators in mirrors, 6spd gearbox, dual climate control, half leather seats, electric windows all around, premium sound system.

ive just noticed, i looked at the picture someone posted with the "Low Washer Fluid" warning.

i have a 06 plate 1.8tdci zetec climate and it doesnt have this feature.

bear with me.

on that picture i can see it is a petrol variant (8k revs). now mine is diesel. is this feature down to this? a bit more info on cars with and without is needed. but that russian software is a good find...shame i dont have the nutz to do this...

yep that was me that posted it 1.6 ti vct zetec climate with the quickclear and heated washers and heated electric mirrors but front elec windows only but with dimming rear mirror if you have the climate pack you should have the washer fluid warning ide assume

ive got all of that except dimming mirror. and its a climate pack and it doesnt have this feature. i reckon its down to petrol/diesel variants again

Are we all ready for the next exciting instalment from Ford UK? Yes?? are you ready??

Dear Mr Hesketh,

Thanks for your response.

I have spoken with the product specialist who has advised that without having direct access to your vehicle, there is no way that we can confirm this either way. Therefore I would recommend taking your vehicle to your local Ford dealership so they can confirm whether you have this feature or not.

I hope this information has helped. If you do have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Confirmed, Ford havnt a !Removed! clue about their cars. THey have the VIN and reg of my car and still cant get an answer except go to Ford dealer and ask..... What and expect them to do this for Free, I think not. Who is this phantom product specialist??

On another note, I find it amazing that some titaniums have no heated front screen, arnt they meant to be the top spec trim level?

If this washer jet feature is only fitted to petrols, then words will really fail me, whats up with diesels. My spec is almost idential to artscot, except the dimming mirror is manual. Everything else the same, but its a 1,8TDCi.

Anyone any ideas what I should reply back to Ford???

Cheers

I think my reply would be immediately removed by the moderators but the safest words to mention are "!Removed!" and "Elbow".

it really should be a simple answer if its on the zetec climate then it should be on the higher trim levels petrol or diesel the guy at my work has an 07 plate and he doesnt have this feature either .

as i said ford dont have a clue should it be n the cars and its been left out? did they think no one would notice? who knows but i would be asking why one car has it and another doesnt and if i had the titanium ide be asking why i dont have these features.........though i know the answer it will be because you get other features instead ie 6 speed instead of 5 premium sound system instead of basic etc

I activated this today on my 58 plate facelift titanium 1.8 TDCi with a full washer. Immediately told me it was low, so i obviously am missing the sensor. :(

That's what happened to me, I filled it up just to be sure but no joy so disabled it today.

Did anyone ever sort this out - I have just enabled with the same result as PaulB and Sparky
