Sorry to bump such an old thread - just been doing this mod (allbeit a cmax, 2007, identical wiring to focus) and got as far as adding pins 8 and 38 in the ABS plug - my plug is different to in the guide and only has pins up to 26 and is known as C831 rather than C830 😞 i can't find any wiring guide that shows where the pins go on this particular connector - any help?

I know this thread is old.. But can i get power on pin 1 from another source other than Fuse 19?

In the end i got the power from the ignition pin on the pump which also gets power from F19 😉 Works perfectly and to my surprise i had the other pins in there already! just soldered my wires onto those two and all done!

Has anyone on this forum actually done the retrofit ESP button? We’ve wired it in (titanium spec so most of it was already there) but it won’t work. If someone has, how did you get it to work? Was there a module setting that has to be enabled that I’ve missed?
Note: this car is keyless

Perhaps unnecessary but does the car have ESP at all?

On the Focus MK2 ESP was not fitted as standard. It was part of the optional IVD (Intelligent Vehicle Dynamics) system which on top of the ABS system contained ESP and TCS.

Yes the car has ESP

I haven't done it.  But ESP stuff is in the ABS module, so check options in there.  Also check the GEM options.  You may also need to untick the dash option in the HEC, not sure if the button will work while that's still active.

I did a few back in the days. However all were MK2.5 or MK2 that I converted to MK2.5 IVD modules and instrument cluster. On these vehicles it was plug and play.

I never tried it on a standard MK2.

The car has ESP. It has ESP listed in the menu on the cluster. It has ESP on a sticker on the ABS pump. I’ve been through elmconfig and FORSCAN with a fine tooth comb and can’t see anything.

I’ll try and attach the wiring diagram pics that we followed. IMG_0577.thumb.jpeg.a1f103ca8db50d3c3f692e7e5c845ba2.jpegIMG_9061.thumb.jpeg.2f1a1afe7aaf727641f533ef8d41da4f.jpeg
