Got word yesterday that my Zetec S, Panther Black, has arrived in the UK and I am scheduled to take delivery on the 1st September :D

Looking forward to getting it. Saw one on the road the other day and it looked very smart indeed!

Oh i remember that feeling, counting down the days, and then going there on the day seeing it sat there all prepped and registered..

First thing you do.... Take pictures!

Second thing you do... Go for a drive!

Third thing you do... Upload pictures here for us to all marvel over.......mmmm!!! (without fail!!!!!)

Mines came on the 21st this month :) I will be getting mine on the 1st september aswell lol! I will post pics also

Also didn't know of the new taxing regulations in the UK for new cars.

No new car to be delivered with tax disc, will arrive in post!

Naa I work in a ford dealership.... The factory tints are an optional extra im afraid :/

Hmm not sure about that, the car doesnt come with a tax disk on it....but the dealership will tax the vehichle for you usually as usually you pay for that as part of your finance deal/package but its free road tax on exoboost fiestas anyway :) as for badges... At the left you have an ecoboost badge and at the right a fiesta badge Here is a pic of the back of mine :)

Definitely does not come with tax disc. Given a letter by the dealership, new rules as of July sometime.

"Changes in legislation and the closure of local DVLA offices that administer tax discs mean that 'dealship' will no longer be able to supply tax discs on collection of vehicle. Legistlation section will allow non display of tax disc for 14 calendar days from date of registration'

I know they have a lot of different models and trim levels to remember but it is their job after all.or so I thought...

While I was getting quotes for my new ZS the salesman in evans halshaw edinburgh point blank refused to give me a price unless he was the last person I was coming to. He said that if he wasnt my last stop, I would go to another garage to try and get it cheaper using his quote as a comparison... well of course. My job as the buyer is to get the best price I can. So I thought his job was to give me a quote on the car I wanted but I must have been mistaken...

I fixed mine with good old superglue, just give it time to set properly.

That's progress then? So lots more cars on the road with no tax discs, how will police/traffic wardens know if your car is in this 14 day period?

I heard that DVLA offices were closing last time I went to change sons personal plate over to his new car so next time will have to send it to Swansea rather than being able to get it done immediately,place in Leeds was always busy I just can't understand the logic of giving a worse customer service.
