Was it worth the hassle D13? - What is the new neg cable run in // I wouldn't have a clue about all this .. With the benefit of hindsight and bearing in mind I have never taken a car apart what kit should I buy for a late 2009 titanium? (It has projectors).

Also I clicked yout car for sale link and saw your rear lights which I'm thinking are these?

KNow anything about Tunigsportparts, the seller? I recon they'll look sweet on mine, which is sea blue!

I had an issue with a set of 55w hids I bought where they would come on for around 20 seconds then turn off. I had a canbus system on the 55w then got a standard 35w set and have had no problems since :)

Can anyone help me please?

Mine hasn't got the wire that holds the bulb in but instead a metal holder that also clips the electrical wires in it. There isn't anyway I can see how to hold a hid bulb?

Thanks

Stu

You're not trying to plug HID bulbs into the stock bulb connector are you?

HIDs require Ballasts. They will not run of 12v.. they need almost 24000 volts peak to ignite

Where am I going wrong :(

Here's some loverly piccys of what I'm struggling with.

The original holder

The bulb in the original way

It needs to look like this.

After looking, the connectors you're comparing to are the connectors from the ballast to bulb.

Pretty much ALL cars (except those with HIDs, although some factory ones are similar) have the same headlight plug.

You either 1.) Run a relay system, which involves running a pos & neg wire to the ballast & then use the factory headlight connector as a signal wire

Or 2.) Run the ballast off the original headlight connector, which is what I now do having tried it both ways (the joys of precanbus!)

My retrofitted Projectors take a power from the Hi/low terminal then use the common neg from the plug to determine where the solenoid needs to be. The ballast just takes power regardless if the headlights are switched on

Hi and thanks for the reply..

No it' the holder itself that is the problem.

xenon-hid-h7-low-bulb-base-holder-adapte

Has you can see the wire connector is built into it but that does pop off,, but the wires on the HID Bulb won't go through the opening on the holder..

Only way round it that I can see is if I put a small cut in the holder so I can open it and fit the wires through that way..

I understand now!

I'd go with the plan of snipping a slight cut in it then passing the bulb through :).. that's of course I'd you're sure its the correct bulb.

I haven't read all of the thread, but I did have to snip my holders to get my HID wires through. You can get these off eBay with the gaps already made if you'd rather keep your originals in pristine condition!

What have I mist here

What type of bulbs are they and where do they go?

I had the exact same problem, also had to snip a piece out to make it fit

after cutting it out it worked perfectly

I'm running 6000k (was 8000k, but were too blue), 35w DC - no issues at all!

Sorry guys, what are the adapters for? I've never those before.

When I fitted my hids I used a H7 kit.
