Thanks dan. Yeah I'm going to stick the old plate on top of the new one to pass -if it fails & it then take it off... Lol im pretty sure it will pass, as you say.

We are lucky we don't have Metal plates like the rest of Europe for sure ...they are all pretty big plates now too -and they don't fit the gap in the RS Grill..

Have you got a link / ebay item number for the mesh that you got on yours dan? Deffos the best mesh that ..

Just did a little before and after pic :) post-27159-0-09284800-1393860155_thumb.j

i used this m8, only needed half of one sheet lol :L just be carful when cutting it and wear gloves, i didnt and now have a million cuts on my hands and are killer to work with now -.- not good, and also do not what ever you do catch it on a leather sofa !!!! one big argument followed after that lol and now im paying for a new sofa yaaaaay -.-

post-27159-0-54625700-1393862149_thumb.j you may want to try this stuff on your sofa mate ... A mate used it on his and it saved him a few quid ..

- that mesh sounds totally brutal :-/ thanks for the warning

cheers m8 ill give it a go, and it is the edges are super sharp :/

Dan the mesh grill looks really good, definitely a lot different from other peoples front grills! Personally I think the front of your car looks a bit busy and too many things going on with it, such as the S badge and that front deflector I believe? But it's your car and only my opinion. Hard work is paying off though, great result.

I like this grille. Looks good even in Matt finish. I'll be keeping an eye on eBay for one thanks :)

lol i wish not paying 3g's for a super charger lol

I'm in talks with a remaping company that say they can take my zetec s

From 118bhp to 137bhp just with a remap

Priced at 295 and they come to your door.

Then with a induction kit and air filter plus new miltec could look promising

What do you all think

Better off with yeh mountune kit.

More power from the car, well known brand and you get a yellow mountune badge!

I had the mountune 140 upgrade to my car at Ford. But I've heard of these upgrades , essentially they are the same thing Benny .. Made a big difference to mine

Benny I'm almost certain you won't see those gains just from a map.

Save your money for now, get a J1 cai or equivalent, decent free flowing exhaust then either map or bluefin. Best bet mate but if your thinking about a custom map,go as far as your going to go on hardware mods then map, otherwise it's counter productive.

The mountune kit is great if your car is under warranty.... But you can get those sort of gains for cheaper.

The mountune MP140 is their exhaust (Miltek but mountune branded), manifold, sports cat, panel filter and remap.

Thanks for your input guys

The tuning company insisted I would get them gains they are called celtic remaping/tuning.

I even double checked. They still said between 1-2bhp @ 137bhp

No way will you get 20bhp from a map on a naturally aspirated engine.

This is what's got me confused lol

Don't listen to them ... Lol the fiesta metal is 134 it's easy possible to do that with your car with a remap for sure

. Also mountune say that the J1 induction kit & miltek exhaust don't work well with there stuff ..the miltek is not the same

The Metal 134 gets it's power from a slightly different map anyway and slightly larger exhaust, so mapping won't do much at all on a metal or S1600i.

Just so you know, there are loads of people who have tried J1 cai's on there MP140 setups. Plenty have dyno'd also. The general consensus is that there are no extra gains to be had for the 140 by using the j1 on this setup.

As for the exhaust. Miltek DO supply Mountune. They are essentially Mountune branded Miltek systems. I think your getting confused with the Miltek Dual Exit (RS Style) that is available. Mountune will not allow this exhaust on their product officially.

The mountune exhaust is different ... the power gains can be had with a standard zetec s too.

The mountune exhaust is made by Miltek.

Sorry if I wasn't being clear on my previous post. Miltek make the mountune exhaust system, but to a slightly different spec to theirs. The mountune is a bit quieter than the Miltek branded one and different internals.

Hope this helps...

I get you now sheriff .. Thought you were saying the only difference was the laser etched logos on them ..lol

I love the look of the miltek - I've got the rolled exhaust mountune but have to clean it all the time to keep it from going black - it's pretty loud in the high revs ...I'd love to hear the miltek system roar :)

I spoke to Shaun at AMD last week and asked about the price difference between the two, and why the mountune is much cheaper. Ended up in him agreeing to fit the Miltek free, which was nice.

Next month is exhaust time :)
