JackR
1.6 ecoboost or tivct? What power output? That still seems excessively high, are you in a high risk area? Have you filled up the named drivers with low risk drivers? 125, duratec?? It's a PowerShift anyway.Wigan No, worked out cheapest this way
alexp999
Do you have a clean licence? Don't know if Wigan is high risk or not, but still seems really high. Crazy what some companies will charge...
London's Finest
£3000 QUID? holy lol. My mate paid £2850 for his E39 BMW 523i at 19. This year his premium has dropped to £985.

alexp999
Maybe it is just the amount of time then. Hopefully it will fall quickly for you. :) I was shocked at my renewal this year (in a good way).
Invisible Man
£1452 with Direct Line - £300 Excess Only had a car license 2 years and I'm almost 30 (bikes are my thing). The most annoying thing is that I can insure a MV August F4 for £150 and its worth more than my Focus and it's a damn sight quicker. It came down when I part ex'd the Corsa and bought the Focus from nearly £2500.... If I could get my family on the back of a bike I would do

Yeah it could fall quickly month on month, or is it only measured in years i.e. the first year is really expensive even if you get a quote after 11 months? If any insurers measure the length of time driving in months, it could be worth getting quotes after a few months and then you could change over and save some money. But definitely shop around for cheaper insurance after the first year.
Micro
24, 5 years no claims (guaranteed). One windscreen claim in 2011. No fault accidents. Live in the West Midlands, about 15 miles south of Brum. Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec (100ps), with "Parking Sensors" modification disclosed (+£6 difference, even though they won't cover them in any payout!!) Also, + £25 for parking in a private, off road car park. £525 (< £300 at my parents address!)
jeebowhite
It's silly, you add safety features and you have to pay for them. Parking in a more secure location and you have to pay for it. Danged insurance
