Sony Radio Issue & Dashboard Rattle

Featured Replies

I wonder if anybody can help me with two annoyances, rather than problems.

My sony radio has preset channels 1-10 and when I scroll through the channels using the M button on the steering wheel, it goes through 1-4 and then just goes back to 1 again. Does anybody have any idea why this happens and doesn't go through channels 5-10? The Ford dealer said they reset the radio several times to try to rectify it but it made no difference.

Also, I have a really annoying dashboard rattle which generally happens when the car is cold, I guess as it gets warm the plastic expands. At the moment I just whack it and it stops but it does it all the time. Does anybody know how to remedy this?

Appreciate any help, thanks

I have the Sony radio in my car but haven't noticed this fault, I did however reset the Ford Sync system by pulling the appropriate fuse so you could perhaps try this yourself?

As for the rattles I also had some rattles from my dash and found the main culprit to be the plastic around the passenger airbag status light. The clip is for this located at the top in the centre but it's almost impossible to remove without breaking it, I recommend prizing the corners out and putting some double sided tape in. This solved my problem but I do still get new rattles appearing from time to time and as you said the best solution is often to apply a decent amount of force to area the rattle is coming from. Not very scientific but it seems to work :)

Thanks very much James. I hadn't thought about pulling the fuse, I'll give it a go.

Thanks for the tape suggestion also, anything is worth trying :o)

Thanks for your help
