Dumb Vavle

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have a 2014 ford fiesta st2 and I was just wondering if anyone has or knows of anyone who has put a bump Vavle on their car.

Glad to hear any tips on the best way to modify my car

Thanks

They already have a recirc valve so you already get the "dump" noise when you change gear.

But you can fit different ones, haven't bothered myself. Not much point in my opinion. You'd get sick of it. It's just right at the moment.

But try

Sico developments

Jwracing

Pumaspeed

Collins performance

All the above do them

Recirculation valves are far better than dump valves. So I wouldn't change it and I think the ST sounds great as it is.

Invest in an exhaust and you'll be much more satisfied

Okay thanks guys just wondering that's all. Always liked the sound of a dump valve but was just seeing if it was worth doing that's all.

You got any other tips on does and don't for modifying my car?

Depends what your looking to gain, power or visual mods ?

Check the project threads, plenty of ideas there.

Fitting an induction kit will give you the noise your looking for.

Thanks mate what's the best to get would you say?

The itg kit or the AutoSpecialist stage 2 are the most popular ones.

What exhaust would you suggest I should invest in I would like my car to be able to make that popping noise

Your not going to get the popping from an ST, you may get the odd one but, it's never going to be like a mk6 ST with a decat.

KMS is probably the loudest exhaust, cobra, scorpion are usually louder than milltek.

On my old car you could get a forge splitter recirculation valve. Worked like a recirc but made the dump sound... what does make a big difference is induction kit as theyre silent with oem air filter. Or even better blank off your recirculation valve and listen to reverse spin turbo chatter... boost flutter whatever you wanna call it

You want a Mk 2 Focus ST for that ;)

Okay guys I've looked into the exhaust I'm going to be getting a straight through exhaust from the cat. Also been looking at blow off valves what's your opinion on them?? Also going to get a K&N air filter to fit inside the original air filter box for now

Beats me why you bother, whadaya want, noise or performance? I laugh at the noisy joker kids. Who cares what noise it makes? If it doesn't beat me from the lights it (or the driver) is a duffer.

Well I'm looking for both.... I've always love the noise of a dump Vavle makes and yeah I agree you do get those 17/18 year old with little cars that have a big exhaust fitted that you can hear then before you see them and then they try and beat you off the lights and they just flop..

You wont get popping or banging but it will "crackle" with a decat and straight 2.75" (3" will give more of a deeper tone, less crackle). This is stock cat back with Scorpion De-Cat and I must note that it's a cold start, once warm it only crackles letting off at 5k+ and very rarely around the 3k area. Had one big bang out of it in 3 months. Maybe if I had a full system it would be once a month haha.
But overall has more of a performance sound outside, very noticeable compared to stock -
