Jeez some people, eh?

I made an enquiry, to someone selling some deflectors on eBay. The advert wasn't clear (or so I think), I sent the seller a question asking if these were 2pcs or 4pcs. As the title states 5dr, but the listing doesn't mention how many pieces were included.

Nay indeed lol tried before didn't look right as makes Windows look smaller and so you got a small front window then large rears

I might try taking the deflectors off and see if I can fix the bent plastic around the windows. Can anyone else with the Heko deflectors check if the clips have bent the plastic around the top of the window?

looking at the plastic i cant see you making it any better ,may be as well just to leave it .no one would ever notice TBH.i spoke to ford and the parts are available and are £27 per door but how they fit is another matter,.the dealer is getting a set in for me to look at .looks to me like they have been maybe applied with some kind of iron ?? or heat adhesive.

i will let you know when i have seen them.

I was going to try and take the deflectors off today but it was too windy to attempt it. Once I get them off though I can decide whether I miss them or not. I think I'll miss the way they look from the outside, but I'll be glad to not have such a huge blind spot just to my right. And the main reason I got them was I hoped that I could drive around with the windows cracked open even at high speed, and just listen to the engine and the turbo, but it doesn't really work like that. The only thing they do is reduce wind buffeting, but above 40 mph all I can hear is wind.

I know they have other benefits like stopping windows from fogging up and deflecting rain, but I can get the same benefit from closing the windows and turning on the air con.

I was going to say that I'm not trying to persuade anyone to not get wind deflectors, it's just that my experience with them hasn't been good enough to recommend them. Maybe I'm missing something though, because they are a really popular mod and it seems like most people don't have any problems with them.

Wait for the got days in summer with no wind you will want them back lol makes up for rest of year the winter a use them as a sunvisor turning corners because of low Sun

Yeah you're right I'll probably miss them in the summer, but I'll see what I think after I take them off. I could fit them back on but would probably need to put on some new double sided tape. At least they were cheap lol.

You've got to think car's aren't designed to have things stuck in their window channels. There's always bound to me little niggles. Is the bulging really that bad? Will it ever break anything? Probably not. How long do you plan on keeping the car? I've had deflectors on cars for years and there's never been any issues

Yes that's what I was thinking, that the window channel is designed to fit the glass so putting extra stuff in there isn't ideal. The bulging is bad enough that there is a gap between the seal and the plastic in some places, so I don't want to leave it like that. If I didn't already have issues with the deflectors then I'd probably put up with it, but this was the final nail in the coffin really. At least I tried them anyway.

Tell you what ,after driving a week with the deflectors on now they are off i drove with the window down a bit and what a difference they really do make,mine are going back on with tape... :D

I've had deflectors on 3 different Focus's now and wouldn't be without them.

If nothing else they help to reduce water running onto the inner door sill when opening the window in bad weather.

Im well happy with my climairs. Window fully open at 70mph?, what's not to love?

I had climair in the past , all they did was creak , team heko no probe and i didn't use the clips either

Ive had 2 pairs , one on a focus 64 reg and my last fiesta 15 reg , no issues at all that i noticed , however my 15 plate disappeared recently

Doesn't the deflector tend to push the window inwards a touch therefore away from the rear seal allowing water in?

There is a thread on this somewhere on here .I'm not the only one who it has happened to.wish I had not used the clips now.its the clips that cause the damage when pushed firmly home.

Have you looked into having the damage repaired or the trim replaced? I asked my local Ford dealer to have a look when it was in for its first service, but they couldn't really do anything. I'm thinking of taking it to a proper body shop, because they said if they try and replace the trim it could leave air bubbles and look worse than it does now.

Had a look at getting the new trim but its like a self adhesive trim and i think it will be a !Removed! to apply so im leaving mine as it is.it comes in 2 parts .

^ Yeah you could be right, at first I thought it would be best to leave it as is. But if I do find anywhere good to have the work done I'll report back here.
