I'm sure I've seen that picture before ;)

Thanks for the input on the fuses, I will have another look shortly. I take it they pull out easily by hand and don't require pliers or anything?

A gentle pull with your fingers. Easy!

I'm sure folk said they break in via the little window by the mirror. How the heck do they reach down to the flap and port from there. I'm lucky if I can get the flap open when in the car, never mind twisting arm in multiple directions.

I thought exactly the same, as when I was cleaning earlier... I thought how the heck can you reach the OBD via smashing the small corner window? I'd say it's pretty much impossible. Unless their elastic man/woman/thing!

Although, knowing my luck, I would just get a note through the door that says "We see your steering lock and missing fuse and raise you a tow truck!"

:P

Don't tempt fate ! :)

Yeah exactly. It's like the young boys at footie...

I'll watch your car for 5 quid mister.

See that big dog inside. I don't need anyone to watch it when Rex is in there.

Hey Mr. Can your dog put out fires?

Don't provoke !

I know how its done and its easy. Not posting here but trust me it is so simple they dont even use anything specialist to break the glass.

It's ok, I wouldn't see it through lol

Anyone know if any of the empty slots are "Hot in start" (live when the ignition is turned on). Handy to know I suppose, I do have a circuit tester to hand... I'm not a wizz with electrics, but do have one of these to hand: (just wondering where to turn the dial for use)

The Dark Knight... I take it you've suffered no ill effects by pulling this fuse then?

And as for towing - you can imagine a merc or a beemer being towed away and possibly split for parts. But not a 16 grand Fiesta really.

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Nothing would suprise me.

No issues at all

Effectively keyless systems leave the car unlocked and give access to OBI port without the Alarm being set off. The OBI port allows the car to have new key programmed etc etc

As far as access to the compartment which houses my ODB is concerned the problem seems to be solved as I am unable to open

the compartment despite numerous attempts! Any ideas on how to do this without breaking the small hatch door or should I

treat it as accidental additional security????

just put your fingers into the flap and it just pulls down ,it is tight !!

My car is in for its first service on Wednesday. Should I put that fuse back in?

Nope, no need to.

My port is hidden, and they never rang me asking where the real port was. They will not need to touch the port, unless they carry out a diagnostic test.

Ok cheers

After only 6 days the insurance have settled up - would highly recommend Elephant Car Insurance always able to speak to someone - very helpful.

My son has decided after owning an ST for only 3 hours not to get another, he is going for something more low profile (fingers crossed)! a Focus 1.5 Ecoboost, and is wondering whether to get a steering lock for it.

What does everyone think of them, and can anyone recommend one, have been looking at Disklok.

Thanks for any help.

Wow that was quick!
