You would think but Skoda and Audi residual have gone UP! I work in the Motor Trade and only VW specifically the Golf have seen a decrease in resale value, So my most recent briefing says......

My dad is looking at a new car ATM- he likes his Audi vehicles and as such was wandering around the floor. He currently owns an s5 black edition and is basically trading that in for an a3/a4 saloon diesel and they are biting his hand off to do a deal.

I guess Joe Public arn't to clued up on these things :P

Exactly what I was thinking. I bet the lower resale values of the Golf is just down to that having the vast majority of news coverage, so people won't even get into the dealership to have a look at one. But they probably have no idea that Auidis and Skodas share the same engines, and the salesmen will probably not be too keen to tell them that lol.

It's good for anyone wanting to buy a Golf though :)

I imagine clever PR from VW is helping to keep the rest of the VAG group out of the media for the most part, I;m sure it will come out but at the moment the media are enjoying pointing finger at other Manufacture's, Vauxhalls Zafira Tourer has apparently been tested independantly and produced 17 time more NOx then allowed under EU law. so this story will be around for a while and the worst case is diesels are banned from city centers or have to pay a charge which is what our top brass think will happen if the environmentalists or left wing councils run with it.
