Hi everyone hope somebody can help me out here , I got the engine changed in the car... driving all fine and well, for about a month .... went out to it on Monday,  ma step da took the wee brother to work and on his way bk it started spluttering and then went into limp mode,  all the dials were going nuts, when u try to take it over the first thousand Rev's it starts to " pop n bang" ... this is a 1.8 petrol duratec engine incase anyone asks, please someone help:wallbash:

as my other car is cutting out on me at juntions:w00t: etc got told scv valve so I changed it, 55 quid, now when I read the forums it' saying the camshaft sensor,  I'm more interested in getting the Ford fixed as there more reliable than vauxhalls and thats my first and last 1!!

Appreciate everyones input on this forum :wink3:

I'm a bit surprised you've not had any responses, although the Mondy section isn't as active as the Fiesta and Focus areas.

I can't help you with your issue but I've tagged 3 of more knowledgeable chaps on here so hopefully someone will be along shortly with the info you need.

with the exception of the dials going wonky, the spluttering makes me think an ignition problem - perhaps a bad plug or coil pack.

Without more info there's not much we can suggest right now.

With that and the wonky dials it sounds like a low voltage issue?  Not enough for the plugs to fire properly?

If it went into limp mode I assume there is a fault code which you need a code reader for

I have one from here

Best to buy the modified one with the extra switch as it allows access to more stuff from the car's computer stuff.
