2008 Ford Focus Titanium 1.6 TDCi - £3,595

12 months MOT - Just passed, no advisories

Tax £30 a year

75k miles

Full service history

2 keys

50+ mpg

The facelift Focus Titanium comes as standard with automatic lights and wipers, 4 one touch electric windows with global opening and closing, premium audio system, front and rear heated screens,  easyfuel system, ambient lighting, door sill plates, dash cubby, etc.

On top of that, this one has several factory fitted options including rare full leather interior with heated fronts and electronic driver's adjustment, ST spec lights - Xenon fronts (with self levelling and headlight washers) and LED rears, privacy glass to rear and IR heat shielding on the front screen, powerfolding door mirrors with puddle lights, voice control, bluetooth, iPod connection and genuine mudflaps.

The car is basically standard but I have added OE cruise control as that was one option not ticked on the original purchase.  Have also added subtle silver and black Ford gel badges and gel number plates, clear rear fog light and gloss black front fog surrounds, all of which can be removed if not to new owners taste.  I have also activated deflation detection system which shows a dash warning if you get a puncture and auto door locking as you drive off for safety in dark town and car park situations.  The engine has also been remapped and now produces around 140bhp.

I have a wad of receipts for the work done under my 3.5 years ownership.  The main things are cambelt and water pump kit in Oct 2017 as well as new aux belt, aux tensioner and coolant.  New MAF, lower arms and Hunter wheel alignment in Sept '17.  Front discs and pads, glow plugs, windscreen, rain sensor and genuine Wiper Blades all round also.  Plus I have been doing oil changes every 6k miles with quality oil and other filters as necessary, all recorded in the service book.

As you can see this is a very well looked after Focus with low mileage, several rare options and low running costs.  It's in great condition inside and the bodywork is also good, no dents etc.  There is an odd paint reaction on the NSF wing, and a few light bush scratches on the NS doors from rural roads, that obviously doesn't affect the drive of the car and isn't really visible normally but is noticeable up close so just want to be honest.  That's about all I can fault it on really!

Car is located between Woodbridge and Ipswich so if you're genuinely interested please message me to come and view.

Thanks

Tom.

Price drop to £3,750 to any forum members.  Can also carry out an oil change before collection as it's not far off 6k now.  Can collect buyer from Woodbridge train station if that's any help.  Would like the car to stay on the forum tbh.

As it's the 1st of March on Thursday, the day to start new car tax without losing any, would anyone be interested if there was a considerable price drop to collect the car on or before March 1st?  If no-ones interested then fair enough, but if it's just price putting you off please do message me and see if we can work something out.

Open to offers above £3k now.  eBay ad has ended with no buyers - can't afford another one or Autotrader tbh, could really do with it collected by the end of next weekend (18th) if at all possible.

Not realy sure what's putting people off tbh...

Fitted with a DPF I presume and the similar engine fitted to Peugeot hdi range?

Has it got the Eolys injection system that adds a shot of fluid into the DPF every time you fill up with fuel?

The selling market at this time of year is hard I ended up selling my 62reg astra 2.0cdti with all the toys and leather interior for 4000 with 48000 to get my focus, seems hard to sell diesels at the moment.

It is the same 110ps engine fitted to Peugeots, Citroens, Volvos, Minis and Suzukis yes.  This one does have the Eolys system, you need to be looking at late 2009 to get the coated DPF.  However the DPF was gutted a few years ago when the remap was done and currently has an empty DPF can to pass MOT visuals.  This can be easily reversed, an aftermarket DPF costs around £180 now, and it will just need the original 110ps ECU map putting back on.  I have a copy of the map and so does the mapper.  I can put it back to standard for the new owner if desired but would need a decent sale price and a non-refundable deposit to do so.  I just don't have the cash to do it otherwise.

Crikey, was that a dealer px?  Would be lucky to get a 62 plate Focus Titanium in 48k for £4000!  Vauxhalls have never held value well though, I sold a 6 year old Vectra C Design (one below top spec) with the desirable 150 CDTi for just £3000 and bought a £500 stop gap...had to spend twice as much buying the 6 year old mk2 Focus just 6 months later.

Looks like it's not just diesels that are hard to sell now.  Two local Mk2 STs finished on eBay over the weekend, one sold for £2.4k, the other went unsold for £3.5k.  If only I could afford the fuel and tax!

Has anyone had any experience selling a car to Evans Halshaw?  I've had quotes for both Focus' which aren't great but aren't horrific either.  Are they likely to knock money off for minor paint scratches etc?

Yep they knock off for anything they can find, they offered me £3250 for my Mondeo but when I went along for they assement it ended up as £2350 so £900 of the offer slight stuff on rear bumper and some stone chips on the bonnet. Didn't take thier price shopped around and got £3100 on a trade in and money off  the Cmax.

Just noticed your reply, yeah went with part ex as I couldn't sell it in the time I wanted, Evans halshaw only wanted to give me 3500 for it, I had to laugh and just about walked out. And yeah your right vauxhalls depreciate really badly but I'll never own another one again the focus is far superior to the astra. So much so I ended up trading my 2 astras in within 3 weeks of each other and bought a 1.5tdci titainium x and a 2.0 tdci titainium x both brilliant cars to drive.

I'll mention it over the next week or so and see if I can get any interest. For gods sake don't take less than 3k though......

Did you manage to get £2250 for it?

Sold for £2,700 in the end.  I still believe it was worth £3k when you look at what else is around for that price and the fact this one was above the majority of Focus' for sale but it's a buyers market atm.
