I've been all around the houses today. Ford customer service have been no help whatsoever! The latest advice (from a dealership) was to contact Ford assist and asked to be towed in as we feel the car is dangerous to drive, that way they will have to inspect the car and provide a courtesy vehicle. We are waiting for the AA now. Im ready to quote the information you kindly sent me and yes, forewarned is certainly forearmed. I will keep you informed. Thanks again2 points

This triggers the FACM count, and if missing, it could just be causing those low fluid errors. They have been known to fall out. Another suggestion (hoping not to overload you!), if obvious checks like battery reset, magnet & fuse do nothing, you could try posting a query on the Forscan site. They are often good a dealing with specific queries about service procedures. Just in case a software update has introduced a bug into the reset procedure. Though if you have tried it via ELMconfig also, this seems unlikely.1 point

Many thanks for the tip, I will definitely put some Wynns cleaner in when I fuel later in the week.. Ive had the car since 2010, so think its unlikely to have been mapped out earlier than that, you never know though - this is the first experience I have had with DPF related trouble, and I wasn't aware at all you needed to top up additive fluid.. the garage that serviced my car should have possibly told me or at least asked me about it when it was done in May, but a bit late now.. I think Ive noticed my car regen..obvious fans coming on etc... I do approximately 1-2 50 mile motorway trips a week.. I looked at forscan figures, and it says it did its last regen 29Km ago.. or maybe this was failed attempt.. says about 8,000 Km until "ashful"... An issue with the FACM or wiring doesnt sound like a cheap fix when the car is probably worth not too much anyway at this point in time, ill have to do the sums on whether if that is the root of it whether its wothwhile.. especially knowing now about the "£1,000 service" possibly just around the corner.... When I get some time this week I will likely try the battery disconnect (need to make sure I have my radio codes!).. but if that does do a hard reset it seems to me worth doing so cheers for this tip too.. I have no idea if the filler cap magnet is present, as I don't know what this looks like (I am a newbie...), I will google what it is an double check in the morning... do you think this is a possible source of the error? Another great question! I am taking the garages word for it and the fact I was charged for the additive.. I cannot obviously see the tank, especially in the dark, so I'm thinking it may be worth double checking with another garage... I was going on the assumption that the level does not have a sensor on it and so the FACM reset issue is a seperate but as this seems an unusual issue I may have an unusual configuration... Thanks again to all who have taken the time to reply to me on this topic..1 point

Hi all, I've taken on board what a lot of you have posted and changed the wrap from Red to Black. At the same time I've changed the lighting from Red to Ice Blue, to give off a bit more colour and visibility inside. To be honest it was looking a bit 'red light district' before..., again any advice etc much appreciated, as with the carbon wrap the black looks so much better, and less 'garish'. I'm also trying some blue trim tubing, I quite like it, but afraid it will look too 'over board' if much of it is used. I've also changed the rear LED strips in the boot and placed onto the parcel shelf to give the boot more light. I've crimped in bullet connectors so the lights can be easily disconnected and the parcel shelf removed, when I need to load in bike etc, but they can be a bit stiff and awkward to pull apart. Anybody got any ideas or know of some connection I could use instead?? Preferably one where both wires feed into one connection rather than being separate. Thanks for reading and commenting all, it is much appreciated!1 point

I had a broken ribbon too and didn't fancy the cos the of a new screen. Did t have access to a soldering iron so only one thing left. Nuts and bolts. At least the current carrying issue isn't a problem and even though I know it's a bit of a botch, it works and will have to do on my budget. Check the pics if it helps anyone.1 point

Found some pics of when I tried out VP's Bilberry Cleaner for the first time. Thought I'd share my results. This was in June before I sold the Volvo on for the Focus, but technically the C30 is a Focus underneath so it kinda counts :p The alloy hadn't been cleaned for roughly 3 months on the exterior and about 5 months on the inside - a good covering of Bilberry, agitating it and leaving to sit for approx. 5 minutes then wash off with a loaded brush of the Cleaner for extra power. Brought the rim up lovely even bringing the flake in the alloy paint up (factory painted). Thought it might be useful for those considering wheel cleaners :)1 point

Excellent stuff this, been using it for the last 4 or 5 years on all my cars, since Wonder wheels ate my Fiesta's centre caps...1 point

I still like the overall styling of the older veccy b in particular the way the wing mirrors are sculptured..and in gsi form with leather recaros that have adjustable thigh support...I'm 6'3 (wish my mondy had these..)..just a pitty they don't go around corners or roundabouts or anything with curves and deviations.......errr....very well at all..... I live near Ellesmere port so I'm pretty de-sensitized to the whole range of woefull abominations that Vauxhalls are!!shamefully allowed to trundle around, lowering the tone wherever they go...blah blah. In this sort of case I'd try leaving the battery off for half an hour (or longer if possible) for a hard reset of the modules. Is the filler cap magnet still present btw?1 point

This is very odd. The mass of additive figure is how much fluid has been dosed into the fuel tank as far as I know. So it seems odd that the figure is 0mg unless somehow you have rest that figure? I must admit I am a little baffled as to why you can't clear the MIL by successfully resetting the counter and the fact the DTC's come back straight away. Have you ever noticed your car doing a regeneration? Has it had the DPF mapped out possibly? Otherwise I would think you are possibly looking at an issue with the FACM or a wiring issue from the looks of things.1 point

Because those (first two) spaces are immediately in front of the shops, I think people just see the shop they want to go into and point their car in that direction... Who cares about being in the lines or straight, or even fully in, all that matters is saving a few seconds so you can start shopping!!1 point

I'm new to all this, but I love the look of the diffuser you have on the titanium. im just wondering how easy it is to achieve this on a standard zetec. How does this fit on a standard zetec bumper? TIA1 point

Had to do quite a search to find this old thread, but thought I'd post this - the cause of the M6 crash was found to be a Poxhall attempting to mate with a VW in the middle of the motorway. I think the VW has seriously low standards!1 point
