Hey everyone, I've just realised I've never posted pics of my car, so here she is. 1.8 Sea grey Titanium I came close to purchasing a black titanium, but then this one came in the market and colour swung it for me, plus the added bonus of it running 18's too. I had to replace the rear boot handle as the clips had broken and a new 1.8 badge as the one had fallen off 🙈 and a new reversing light as the numpty who owned it before me couldn't wire one in to save his life. Im not gonna go crazy on mods, I've done that on my last two cars, do this one is gonna have more subtle ones. So far Scuff plates and genuine mats all the interior lights apart from the glove box lights have been changed to led. Additional boot light too but I'll get a pic of that once it's dark, and the side, main and full beam lights have been changed too. Next will be a set of Eibachs and maybe change the washer jets Ill post more pics as soon as I can.4 points

Nice car. A set of heko wind deflectors will look really good on the car. A st/ Zetecs rear spoiler would look good aswell. I am thinking about getting one for my car.3 points

Does the smoke smell of fuel or does it smel of oil? If it's fuel then it's running rich. The reason the cat is coming up on diagnostic is because clearly, it's out of parameter due to whatever is being pushed through it lol3 points

Wow, hats off to her! Despite being the same age as me, she's driving a much flashier car than me lol. What does she do for a living, if you don't mind me asking? Also if she's single can I have her digits?? Only joking!!!3 points

No one said that but we could be here all day listing possible causes - Given the fact that it started of as shocks are failing but the car hasn't even been inspected so how can we possibly achieve a sensible outcome?2 points

Sorry if I sound rude mate i used a can of tint spray on a clear lens of the reversing light then if you use a Euro style reversing light which is also clear used tint spray then fit a red led light it will shine red and very bright. I also used a led light on the reversing lens as well.1 point

I do like the look of that tripple r front splitter but I'm curious how it would look on a titanium that hasn't got the zetec s side skirts and rear bumper. Would it look out of place? Anyone got any pics of 1 fitted to a car without the skirts etc..1 point

Have you got smoked rear fogs on yours Daz? They darker than mine or is it just the picture?1 point

I couldn't agree more as you wouldn't except your doctor saying just take an asprin for your severe chest pains as you'd expect a proper examination at least wouldn't you..1 point

As Ian says but as a rule ideally twice a year ie ; towards the end of september ready for the crappy weather and salt coming up then again at the end of february to be sure theirs no unwanted crap n rust from the winter months unless you live on a farm or drive alot on mucky country lanes then i'd be checking more frequently if you have alot of wet weather through the year ..1 point

Went back to garage an a brake hose had come loose on calliper (young trainee boys changing brake pad...) All sorted and brake pedal firm again and doesn't go all way to the floor. Good job i didn't have an accident..1 point

I recently fitted a st spoiler to my mk2.5 titanium and it looks much better for it. I am thinking of the front splitter too to compliment the zetec s upper n lower front grill.. and would like some st alloys as while I like my stock 16" 20 spoke ones they do seem a tad small. You thought about changin the colour of the bonnet lip. I got one in process of being painted panther black in my garage, along with the fog surrounds, as don't like the chrome on the front of the car.1 point

Ignore me Stefan! Having a stressful time with the fuel cap not opening & closing on the car1 point

Check to see if the pads move freely and all surfaces are flat & free of any rust. No harm in checking and then re-greasing.1 point

I was going to do before and after pics. It'll be a 30mm drop, I was unsure weather to go eibach 30mm or H&R 40mm, decided on the eibachs as I didn't to harsh a ride as I'll be driving around with a new born in the back come July, and this is suppose to be a "family" car after my last one 😂1 point

I do aswell. They clean the car better than I can achieve, they do a fair good job in fairness.1 point

I'm currently driving a 2015 Mondeo tdci. I'm travelling 4 miles each way. I usually do a 20min run on a Saturday or sunday every second week and alls well after nearly 2 years. I've had a 61 plate 2.2 Titxsport in the past and drove that similar distances without problem. As long as it gets a work out every now and then, the dpf will be cleaned out.1 point

Copper slip or copper grease are both anti seize lubricants and you generally use a smear of it on the back plate of the inner pad so it doesn't stick to the caliper piston and on the caliper runners so the fitting area of the pads doesn't drag and cause uneven movement of the pads on the calipers ..1 point

they were actually , never had any issues with my 1980's/early 1990's astras and cavaliers. had a 1983 sri cavalier and did 120k in it , all i did was pads and a few oil changes/plugs.1 point

Just know the rev range of the car and be in the right gear at the right time and you'll see off most 'boy racers'1 point
